Last weekend, in Appleton, we had our third PGH Freshman Showcase. I enjoy seeing the new faces of high school basketball before the season, and plenty of players at the event will make their mark on the high school season this winter. Today, we're discussing all the players from Team Four of the 5v5 portion of the event and highlighting what they brought to the floor. We'll keep this up until we wrap up all ten 5v5 teams that played at the Freshman Showcase.

Camryn Koehler

Koehler made the right plays on the offensive end of the floor. I thought she was a solid passer who distributed the ball quickly around the floor. There are also times when she knocked down shots on the perimeter and spaced the floor for her team. She made plays on the offensive end of the floor in every way you could hope for.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229385' first='Isabella' last='Krizan']

Krizan made plays on the defensive end of the floor. She was a disruptive player on that end in times and caught my attention with her ability to do things, like play the passing lanes. She reads the game well and will find ways to make an impact on that end of the floor at the high school level.

Maria Pluemer

Pluemer is the younger sister of Brookfield East's all-time leading scorer, and she will be someone who makes an impact in all four of her seasons as a Spartan. Pluemer had an elite defensive day and was all over the place in the 3v3 portion of the event. I also liked her versatility on the offensive end and her ability to score from anywhere on the floor. I thought she was among the most impressive players on the floor in Appleton and was one of the most well-rounded players at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='874412' first='Teagan' last='Brown']

Brown did a solid job on the defensive end of the floor and made some plays that caught my attention on that end of the floor. I thought she excelled defensively around the basket and defended around the rim without fouling anyone. She stayed vertical around the basket and forced players to alter their shots or risk getting their shots blocked. I thought she made it difficult for opposing teams to get into the paint and score when she was in the game. She controlled the defensive area around the basket, which will help her make plays in high school.
