As a coach, you do your best to make things hard for your opponents. What I have learned over the years, and from reviewing multiple tapes, is that there are a lot of kids in this state you have to scheme against. It's a salute to these players' hard work as coaches try to make things difficult and complex for them to operate. Some coaches use a Box and 1 defense, maybe they employ a run-and-jump to force the ball out of a player's hands, but when I look at the landscape of this state, there is a lot of talent out there you have to scheme against to win ball games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That's what I love about this game. Creating small nuances that can help your team secure a win. Girls these days have elevated their games to a high level. I have seen many young ladies add new skills to their arsenal, which forces teams to dig deep and develop a defensive game plan that will hopefully slow them down. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it may backfire. Either way, my point in mentioning this is that we have some talent here that can play at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In every district at every level, there are players a coach must scheme against. A heady ball player who will help lift the Lady Dragonettes program. What really stands out is her ability to rebound the basketball. Blessed with great size and length, this kid will be looking to terrorize courts throughout Tennessee. She has a tremendous summer ball season. Look for her to carry that momentum into the school ball year with hopes of helping her club add some hardware to their trophy case.
