Six-foot-1 freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1246618' first='Emery' last='Yant'] is a versatile, two-way forward/guard with really nice length, movement, and physicality. Yant was effective inside and out on both sides of the ball on Day 2 at the 3x3 Hoop League. She drained three perimeter shots in one game and had multiple nice takes, drawing fouls and finishing at the rim. She was strong on the offensive glass, with good positioning and timing to secure rebounds and net putbacks. She protected the rim and rebounded on defense. She displayed discipline in keeping her long arms straight up to contest and block inside. She worked hard, jumping the passing lane for the steal and diving to the floor to win possession.

Yant will play at Silverton. The Foxes, known for their focus on team defense, won the 5A state championship in 2024, earned third at the state tournament in 2025, and will work to return to Linfield this upcoming season.

Freshman guard Aylen Davidson showed her ability to shoot and dish at the 3x3 Hoop League on Day 2. Davidson has good handles and got downhill multiple times. She finished a nice take to her strong side through contact and the foul. She curled around a screen on the bounce and kicked out for the 2-point assist. She has good vision and dished inside for a couple of assists. Davidson can catch, turn, and face with a quick release from the perimeter. She called game from behind the arc in her second match.
Five-foot-10 freshman Hanna Hewa is a long guard who pushed the pace, got to the rim, and made perimeter shots at the 3x3 Hoop League. Hewa competed with her [program_tooltip program_id='1035055' first='Northwest' last='Select'] squad against upperclassmen on Day 2. She played aggressive on-ball defense and quickly transitioned to offense after securing rebounds. She caught defenses off guard and exploited the advantage, finding the open teammate under the bucket. She knocked down the catch-and-shoot and pull-up from behind the arc. She took the lane on the bounce and got to the rim, drew the foul, or kicked out.

Hewa will play at Ida B. Wells. The varsity team only rostered upperclassmen last season. The Guardians finished one game behind third place in the Portland Interscholastic League, earned an at-large bid to the 6A state playoffs, and lost in the first round to Nelson.

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1321255' first='Ruby' last='Galm'] played as a versatile forward/guard with nice length at the 3x3 Hoop League on Day 2. Galm showed her ability to set screens, finish around the rim, and step outside to knock down shots. She was effective in the pick-and-roll action. She gathered the ball, quickly got to the block on the bounce, and finished strong at the basket. She posted up. She got to the rim on the drive and drew the foul. She had a nice take from the perimeter, crossing over to her weak side and finishing over the contest. She had a quick stroke to drain the catch-and-shoot at the top of the arc. She crashed the offensive glass. She had good help defense awareness.
