An unsung hero for Alma High School in recent past has been Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='757589' first='Tierston' last='Moore']. Moore is the team's leader in RPG and she also impacts the floor as a scorer and defender. As a Sophomore this is someone that made plays each night she competed. She was one of those players that kept great energy as the year went on, while being their heartbeat and soul in the middle of the lane most of the time. Alma should be a State team once again over the next eight months but players like Moore will have to continue to produce.

I want to venture to say that Cedar Catholic defied the odds last Winter when they made it to the State Tournament. This group as a whole got hot when it mattered the most and they made a respectable run. To do the same this season they will need players to return to produce at a steady rate over the next few months. Their leader from last Winter, that will be looked upon again for some big time buckets is [player_tooltip player_id='1326535' first='Anisten' last='Wortmann']. Wortmann was the team's top scorer as a Sophomore and she is looking to build on that as a Junior. With her coordinated play-style and the ability to create something out of nothing - she should fair pretty well overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1060154' first='Kylie' last='Brichacek'] of Howells-Dodge High School is a multi-sport athlete, that is going to be a main focal point in her team's system over the next two years. Brichacek comes into her Junior season as a 5'9 CG with some noteworthy versatility. Last season she ended up averaging 9 PPG, 5 RPG, and 2 APG, giving her one of the better overall stat-lines compared to everyone else on the roster. If Howells-Dodge wants another State Tournament run over the next year, players like Brichacek will have to be consistent play-makers on both sides of the ball. Which is 100% do-able at this point in the process.

Last Winter Pender High School went 28-2, ultimately winning their State Championship game by over 25 points. During this sensational run, someone for this group that would not be denied was [player_tooltip player_id='502331' first='Hadley' last='Walsh']. Walsh led her team in Scoring and Rebounding throughout the entire Winter and she will have a chance to do that once more for her Senior campaign over the next few months. Walsh is a mismatch. She is a true 6'0 prospect that moves like a guard. With her natural size, she can post up smaller defenders by the bucket, she can shoot over most that matchup with her in 1v1 matchups, or she can step out and bang a three pointer when she has ample space and time. Defensively, she can move between multiple positions at this time because of her mixture of size and athletic ability. I'm expecting this to be another meaningful Winter for Walsh and company. If they worry about going 1-0 each game and they keep the main thing, the main thing, then they should continue to thrive.

[player_tooltip player_id='758994' first='Abbi' last='Durow'] put up some eye-opening numbers last season as a Junior for Millard South. Durow, a 5'8 CG, has been Millard South's go-to leader for years now. She has been their source of production on both sides of the ball at a consistent rate and because of that she has received a lot of love from the college ranks up to this point. This is going to be someone with a lot of options as to where she might want to compete for the next 4-5 years at the end of the day. She is a swift guard with a fundamental handle, impressive vision in the open court, and a willingness to get all the way to the basket for a simple finish. She competes with a calculated aggression and that stands out. Millard South goes as far as Durow takes them this Winter. If she can put together another special season, watch out.
