There are so many parables in life where the word wings brings a direct correlation to something great. From spreading your wings to fly to whatever, the word wing provides a mythical thought of greatness.   In the 2027 class, the small forward position can help elevate a ballclub. Not only can these girls score, but they can also defend both bigger and smaller players. They can bring much more to the table, such as rebounding, pushing the ball in tempo, creating mismatches, and more. To have a young lady in this position poses an advantage in that they can do a multitude of things. Most importantly, they can create for themselves and others without having the ball necessarily in their hands all the time.   Throughout our state, we have some small forwards who can help propel their program. Blessed with size and speed, these girls are difference makers. Here are some young ladies from the 2027 class, dynamic wing players slotted at the small forward position.    This young lady is heading to UTC next fall. The Lady Mocs are getting a talented kid who can exploit a defense from multiple spots on the floor. From posting up to stretching the floor, she can score the basketball in many ways. Her game doesn't stop on the offensive end as she has an enormous wingspan that enables her to block shots, contribute on the boards, and makes it hard for opponents to operate. She is a solid player who will have a sensational senior season.     Blessed with tremendous size, she brings a dynamic set of skills to Bell Rd. From scoring the basketball to locking down on defense, she plays with speed and power and creates mismatches on both ends. She can shoot the 3-ball at a high clip, but operating in the mid-range area is where she is golden. Facing up to shoot or putting it on the floor, she is going to put the ball in the hole by any means necessary. She brings athleticism to the fold at Ezell and will be a solid option that will help elevate this ball club.     This kid competes from tip to finish. From scoring the basketball to contributing in a multitude of ways, her impact is felt as a difference-maker every time she steps onto the floor. From scoring from afar or getting into the paint, CT is a mastermind when it comes to creating mismatches. Tough, plays with relentless energy, she is someone who gives teams fits. She's a tough player, bringing her lunchpail and hard hat every night she plays. Look for her to help uplift this CAK ballclub as they are knocking on the door of capturing a state title.     This is going to be a breakout year for her as she will be suiting up one last time for the Lady Patriots. A UT-Martin commit, she brings size to the table, posing a huge threat in the district. She can handle the rock and put it on the floor to score from the arc, or she can body you up down low, using her exceptional footwork around the basket to score. She has a quick-release that lets her stop and pop instantly. She is someone who moves the needle in favor of the Lady Patriots ballclub. Look for her to give it all she has in one last go-around for the Lady Patriots ballclub, as they have some unfinished business to attend to.     The Carson-Newman commit is someone who leaves it all out on the floor. Her hard work has come to fruition as she is not only going to play at the next level, but she is a solid player who gives her ballclub an edge. From scoring inside or dialing it up from deep, she is not a stranger to putting the ball in the hoop. Her size creates problems, especially on defense. Deflections, rebounds, blocks —she neutralizes possessions, leading the charge the other way. Alcoa is a solid program, and Gwen gives them an advantage every time she is on the floor. A Hard-nosed kid who plays with a chip on her shoulder.
