P2W Headliners Invitational MS All-Showcase First Team

The Headliners Invitational Showcase ([program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball']) provided the ideal format for prospects to showcase their best qualities directly in front of college coaches and scouts. Most middle schoolers had never participated in a showcase environment, so it was essential to give them an amazing first experience. All of the girls received a Prep Girls Hoops write-up (many of their first) and had their picture taken. They were coached by college staff throughout the showcase and have placed themselves on our Prep Girls Hoops radar ahead of their high school careers. These girls will all be better prepared for high-stakes competitions after attending the Headliners Invitational. Among the very talented prospects, Danyle and I determined that the following six prospects were deserving of First Team honors.    Elyse was able to distinguish herself as one of the most polished guards in the gym at the Headliners Invitational. She shredded the net from downtown during the shooting station. Her outstanding ball-handling control, relentless offensive rebounding, ruthless on-ball defense, and all-out hustle were difference makers on the court. Elyse is going to be an immediate program changer at the high school level. She took home an MVP t-shirt and is an All-Showcase First Team selection.     Cassy has freakish talent for a 7th grader. I haven't seen enough of Michigan's 2031s to know for certain, but based on the eye test, she could be the top prospect in that class. I don't think that's an exaggeration at all, based on what she showed at the Headliners Invitational. Her length, athleticism, and the fundamental skills she already possesses shout "high-level guard prospect." Cassy was a force on the offensive glass, buried three-pointers with a confident stroke, and exploded through gaps to score layups. She's a dynamic prospect with a bright high school future ahead. Cassy earned All-Showcase First Team honors.     Londyn put her stamp on the Headliners Invitational right from the beginning, and her dominance on both ends ended with an MVP t-shirt. Londyn excelled in every phase. She caused turnovers with her pressure and anticipation on defense, distributed the ball to open teammates, attacked with a burst to score layups, and ripped the nets from beyond the arc. Londyn worked hard on the boards and had the ball on a string. Her athleticism, dynamic skills, ability to play with or without the ball, and aggressiveness will be exciting to watch at the high school level. Londyn received All-Showcase First Team honors.     Ellie's poised demeanor, pinpoint three-point accuracy, and advanced ball-handling spoke volumes to me at the Headliners Invitational. She zipped the ball to open teammates in transition, demonstrated great court vision, and finished with fantastic control around the basket. Ellie set the standard by her vocal leadership and constant effort--she's a scrappy competitor who fights to win every play. She's an impressive prospect and will be an instant playmaker at the high school level. Ellie received All-Showcase First Team honors.     I was very excited to see Autumn attending the Headliners Invitational. It was apparent during a travel practice during the spring that Autumn had advanced skills for her age, and that's exactly what she proved again on Sunday. Autumn has a solid frame, athleticism, and polished offensive skills that make her a dynamic guard prospect. She finished confidently with both hands around the basket, used quick dribble combinations to create space to drive, and shifted into high gear to fly by defenders for layups. Autumn has good instincts without the ball, pursues rebounds, and has a lethal three-point jumper. She took home an MVP t-shirt and is a First-Team well without the ball     Blake's performance in the first five minutes had me shaking my head and thinking, "Wow, who is this kid?" Her elite ball-handling control, change of direction, sleight of hand, and crafty finishes blew me away during 3v3. Throughout drills, it seemed like every time I looked up, she was burying a three-pointer with flawless technique. Blake's explosive and determined drives earned her many trips to the free-throw line, while she made an equal impact on the defensive end. Only in 7th grade, the sky is the limit. Blake took home an MVP t-shirt and is an All-Showcase First Team selection.
