Preview: Who are the Super Sophomores?

As we approach the 2025/26 Season in Arizona, the 2028 Class is loaded with talent and players that saw significant varsity action last year and will be counted on to make significant contributions this season. Here are a few of the super sophomores.      [player_tooltip player_id='936853' first='Serenity' last='Hampton'] had a breakout year last year as a Freshman, garnering All-Region honors and Southern Arizona Freshman of the Year. She is a big guard that is extremely athletic and can play multiple positions. She is a very good 3 point shooter, and she is dangerous in transition drives to the basket. Hampton has secured some college offers already including D1 San Jose State. Look for Hampton to have a dominant sophomore season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1050010' first='Arlette' last='Munoz'] made 1st team All Region as a Freshman last season, and the expectations for this young star are sky high. She is an excellent ball handler especially in pressure situations and she is very poised for a young player in big moments. She is a good shooter especially off the dribble in mid-range. Look for Munoz to be one of the best players to come out of Nogales and possibly propel her team to a State Title before her career is done.     [player_tooltip player_id='797311' first='Mariah' last='Brownlee'] is already one of the top recruited players in Arizona having secured several D1 offers over the last few months. She had a terrific Freshman year at Millennium and has them well positioned for another State Title run. Brownlee is is an excellent all around player that can play multiple positions and guard multiple positions. She will play the Shooting Guard position in college in my opinion because of her ability to shoot the 3 pointer as well as score from mid-range and off the drive.     [player_tooltip player_id='591482' first='Destinee' last='Benway'] is one of the best shooters in Arizona if not the best. She can hit consistently from mid-range and the 3 point line. She has incredible technique and form on her jump shot, and she can shoot with pressure in her face. She is a terrific ball handler and passer, and she has a very high basketball IQ for a Sophomore. Look for Benway to be one of the top recruited players in the state by her Senior year, and look for her to be a vital piece to Hamilton making a run at a State Title.     [player_tooltip player_id='1050014' first='Sophia' last='Agullard'] is an excellent Combo Guard that can really shoot the ball well especially from the 3 point line. She is an excellent ball handler and distributor especially in transition. She is a solid defender and can guard multiple positions. She has great energy on the floor and has a high basketball IQ. She is just scratching the surface on her potential. Look for Sophia to be one of the top ranked players in the State by her Senior Year.
