In anticipation of the high school season getting started soon, I wanted to dive into some of the top players in each class based on their positions. We're moving on to shooting guards. Here's the shooting guards in NC you should be keeping on your radar.

[player_tooltip player_id='457411' first='Kelsey' last='Rhyne'] is coming off a state championship game with her Lake Norman team, and her ability to score from pretty much anywhere on the court is a big reason her team went on to a victory. The lefty guard has a way of rolling the ball off her fingertips at the rim to score her points, and she can pull up for her shot against anyone no matter whose hands are in her way. She doesn't back down from guarding the best opposing player keeping them in front of her and making sure her hands cause some problems for them trying to get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='772492' first='Madison' last='Drayton'] is another state champion from the list, and she has been a leader for her Cannon team since her freshman season. She has a way of making plays all over the court making adjustments to get her teammate the perfect pass or to flash in the lane and score some of her own points. She can definitely knock down her shot from deep, and she is sure to go to battle with anyone on the block when needed. She jumps into passing lanes grabbing steals and exploding up the other end of the court to score off of fast breaks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1230295' first='Za'Miya' last='Bynum'] is definitely a scoring machine being able to score on all levels and certainly putting the shooting in shooting guard. She has a finesse with the ball that she uses to get to the rim scoring off the glass, or she can pull up for her jumper knocking down her shot from over her opponents. She definitely plays with a much higher IQ than you'd expect from a young athlete, and I am definitely excited to see how she continues being a superstar in North Carolina.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240300' first='Jayden' last='Woodland'] is already an exceptional guard with great vision on the court knowing how to make a play whether she is slowing down the tempo to get something set up or pushing the ball up the court for a solo fast break. She's efficient with her scoring knowing when to use her ball moves to create some space and score her own points or make the dish to her teammates. She does the little things, too, like following shots to grab rebounds.
