There are not many awards Ally did not receive this season. She was named Third Team All State, 5A Player of the Year, 1st Team All-District. Most Outstanding Player at State Championships and received Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award. She is a standout guard who dominated all season with her high IQ, leadership, and elite skill level. She has committed to High Point University.

Finley had a dominating junior season and a lot of accolades to show for it. Not only was she named Third Team All-State she also was recognized as First Team All-District and nominated for a finalist for the NC Basketball Award for the top player in the state. She finished the season with an impressive double-double averaging 21 points and 13 rebounds. I look for her to continue to be in the hot topics as one of the best players in the state next year as a senior.

I am not sure there is a team that plays harder than the Cherokee Braves. They are three-time state champion in 2A and each year they seem to get even better. They were led in scoring this year by Maddie Rogers. She was voted WNC Player of the Year by the Asheville Citizen Times. She hit her 1k point milestone in the regional playoffs and she was named MVP of the state championship game. All of this combined garnered her a place on the All State Third Team. Congrats Maddie!

This is still one of the most underrated players in my eyes even though she is getting recruited and has some awards. There is nothing this kid cannot do between the four lines. She is as impressive as any basketball player I saw all year long. She has Olympic type speed on the defensive end and can glide through the air to make steals. Zamiya makes everything look so silky smooth! Offensively, she is a high-level scorer anywhere on the court. She is only a sophomore but look for her to be on the national stage soon.

A P4 prospect that can do it all. Ashanti has great size on the perimeter and tremendous skill set which is two things that will have her on many college coaches' radars. She put up impressive numbers this year and broke Porter Ridge all-time scoring record. With a year left in high school she will be one of the top scorers ever from Union County. Her scoring prowess has landed her as a Third Team All-State Team performer. Looking forward to watching her one more year to see what all this young lady accomplishes.
