'27 Who Won't Be Under The Radar Much Longer

I mentioned in an earlier article that the ‘27 class is filled with kids whom I call “glue girls.” For those who don't know, these are the type of kids who are important pieces on a team. They can do a multitude of things while getting the job done. There is a saying,“ Me before team.” Cliche, I know, but the purpose behind it is that if either gets in a rhythm or sacrifices, their team around them will have things open up as well. I know, coaches disagree with that, but some around the state have preached that concept.   In this 2027 class, you have a ton of girls who have been flying under the radar. They haven't necessarily hit that breakthrough moment just yet. They have been around, at the forefront of winning games, but haven't necessarily been considered the “it” girl. So, that is why I use the term “glue girls.” They are right in between yet vital pieces of what their team must do to be successful.   Here are some under-the-radar girls from ‘27. Mind you, once the season kicks off, they won't be under the radar anymore.      People knew who she was last year, but she gained a lot of confidence on the circuit this past summer. A kid who is a tremendous threat in the painted area. She is going to score the basketball, using her size to her advantage. She can drop step, score over either shoulder, and be there for a put-back off a missed shot attempted. She is big time on the boards, averaging a double-double in multiple contests this summer. Look for her to be a staple in the middle for TKA and help them proceed deep into state contention.     A kid who plays with a lot of grit. Doesn't matter the job, she is going to pack her lunchpail and hard hat and go to work. From scoring, rebounding, and making assists, she is a game-time player who plays with a chip on her shoulder. Love her attitude and hustle, she wants to win and will do anything to help propel her ball club. With a nice shot release, you better believe when she gets going, she's a kid who is hard to slow down. Love her attitude, her fierce competitiveness. She is a vital piece who will be a game-changer for her team.     A motor-up kid who just competes from tip to the final whistle. Makes all the hustle plays; she is going to lay it all out on the line every possession. She can score in a multitude of ways, but scoring around the painted area is what she does best. No matter the assignment, she is going to do it to the best of her ability. From knocking down shots to creating mismatches down low, she is going to go hard and do all that she can to win that possession. Love her heart, her infectious attitude; she is a difference-maker every time she steps onto the floor.     A shifty guard who is going to exploit a defense at any cost. She's the aggressor, sure, she can knock it down from the arc, but getting a paint touch is what she does best. She defends like crazy, getting deflections and steals that lead to transition buckets. She is a hustler, someone who looks to create chaos. A solid two-way player who is a difference maker on both ends of the court.     She is a bruiser who has flown under the radar. This kid can score around the painted area on either block. However, her ability to clean the glass is crazy. She attacks the ball in the air, bringing it down with two and going back up strong. She gets points like that on the offensive side of the ball, but on defense, she is big-time on the boards as well. I love her physicalness, her athleticism, and her willingness to go hard on every possession. She is a solid kid who continues to grow and makes waves in a tough district.
