Prep Girls Hoops Missouri previews the Clarence Cannon Conference, which is one of the top small school leagues in the state. Centralia, South Shelby, Highland and Monroe City all have been excellent in recent years and that success should continue. Many of the young ladies in the CCC are excellent multi-sport athletes. On the basketball court, these programs have long-standing winning traditions that go back decades.

THE STARTING FIVE

[player_tooltip player_id='460885' first='Braylin' last='Brunkhorst'] (Centralia): A 5'11" 2026 forward who returns after an All-State campaign as a junior. She is entering her fourth year as a starter and she has been a standout from the first day she entered the program. She is a strong, physical player who attacks off the dribble with tenacity. She also can excel on the perimeter with her ball handling and shooting. She has given a commitment to Missouri S&T.

[player_tooltip player_id='803053' first='Ryenn' last='Gordon'] (Centralia): The 5'9" 2027 point guard who returns as one of the top floor generals in the state. She was an All-State performer last season after helping lead Centralia to the state quarterfinals. The Murray State commit is a three-level scoring threat with terrific ball handling and passing skills. She was a key player for the [program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom'] 16U EYBL team during the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='460895' first='Addy' last='Abell'] (Highland): A 5'7" 2026 guard who is a multi-sport standout who is a star of the softball diamond, where she has committed to UMSL. She was just as good on the basketball court as she led Highland to a 24-4 record. She averaged 14 points and two steals a gam while making 48 3-pointers last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='410140' first='Naaron' last='Hays'] (Monroe City): A 5'8" 2026 guard who returns after earning All-Conference honors last season as a junior. She is a talented offensive player who can score on slashing drives with good body control in the lane. She has good handles to break down defenders off the dribble. She can also shoot it from 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110708' first='Sydnee' last='Binsbacher'] (Clark County): A 6'0" 2028 forward who is one of the top all-around players in the conference. She excels at virtually any spot on the court with her height and versatility. She can score inside or on the perimeter and she is also a good facilitator with her ball handling and passing skills.

*******

BEST OF THE REST

2026

Hannah Gaines (South Shelby)

Charlie Roush (South Shelby)

[player_tooltip player_id='982978' first='Reece' last='Barnett'] (Macon)

Madi Johnson (Centralia)

[player_tooltip player_id='624823' first='Payton' last='Weimer'] (Macon)

Chevie Sharp (Highland)

***********

2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1117261' first='Keera' last='Rothweiler'] (Highland)

[player_tooltip player_id='1117263' first='Josie' last='Murphy'] (Highland)

Anna James (Palmyra)

Marney Plunkett (Palmyra)

********

2028

[player_tooltip player_id='1243101' first='Ainsleigh' last='Truitt'] (South Shelby)

[player_tooltip player_id='881137' first='Ealynne' last='Bostick'] (Centralia)

Kenzie Witt (South Shelby)

Zairi Canskike (South Shelby)

2029

[player_tooltip player_id='1261957' first='Blakely' last='Sowers'] (Centralia)

Outlook: Our pick to win the league will be Centralia once again. The Panthers have advanced to the Class 3 Final Four and state quarterfinals in consecutive seasons. They have the talent to make another strong postseason run again this season. Highland has another strong nucleus back for another winning season, as does South Shelby with its good mix of seniors and talented sophomores.
