<p>The Longhorns have their most talented roster since winning a state title in 2019. [player_tooltip player_id='785712' first='Michelle' last='Ezumah'] is one of the best post players in the state, a dynamic defensive presence who can defend on the perimeter and push in transition. The trio of [player_tooltip player_id='800589' first='Jordan' last='Johnson'], [player_tooltip player_id='964200' first='Aliyah' last='Gillespie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1105975' first='Jadyn' last='Morris'] can fill it up along the perimeter and all have speed to take defenders off the bounce. Brooke Parent is a valuable three-point shooter. The Horns have a chance to challenge Milton for the Region 7 title.</p>

<p>Pope is a Top 10 team if their entire roster is intact from flag football. [player_tooltip player_id='582144' first='Abbey' last='Bensman'] is a Preseason First Team All-State selection if she plays her senior season. [player_tooltip player_id='899815' first='Kourtney' last='Kalman'] is a very good shooter who is starting to become more consistent of a weapon off the dribble. [player_tooltip player_id='1276636' first='Talley' last='Schuver'] looks like she will start at point guard as a freshman while [player_tooltip player_id='1219585' first='Avery' last='Fisher'] has serious upside as a jump shooting wing. [player_tooltip player_id='1258317' first='Payton' last='McGuire'] is a slick slasher that can put up 15+ points per game if the long-armed guard is eligible upon transferring in from St. Francis.</p>

<p>The Panthers graduate their first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth leading scorers from a team that should have won the state title last year. [player_tooltip player_id='1258965' first='Kylar-Rae' last='Johnson'] (12.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.3 spg), [player_tooltip player_id='1208863' first='Karrell' last='Greene'] (6.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 apg, 2.1 spg) and Westlake transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1266288' first='Judeah' last='Beatty'] will try to keep Langston Hughes in title contention.</p>
