The powerful forward was a force on both ends of the floor, combining her strength in the paint with a relentless motor that made her nearly unstoppable. Zajac has now taken her talents to the next level, continuing her basketball career at Eastern Michigan University. With her graduation, the race for this year's Division 2 Player of the Year is wide open — and several returning stars are ready to step into the spotlight.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Kayla was a key leader for Goodrich last season, standing out as one of the most complete guards in Division 2. The Northwood commit may be 5-foot-2, but she plays with tremendous heart and intensity, impacting every part of the game. She averaged 12 points per contest to lead her team in scoring while also contributing 3.6 assists, three steals, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Kayla's ability to step up in big moments was on full display when she poured in 23 points to lift Goodrich to its third consecutive regional championship. With her poise, speed, and basketball IQ, she'll look to help guide the Martians on another deep postseason run in her senior year.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sadie had a phenomenal junior season, taking her game — and the Yale program — to another level. The versatile 6-foot wing was the driving force behind Yale's historic 22-4 campaign that included conference, district, and the school's first-ever regional final appearance. A dynamic scorer and all-around playmaker, she averaged 22.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.2 assists per game while breaking multiple school records along the way. Sadie now holds Yale's all-time scoring record with 1,248 career points and set the single-game mark with a 38-point performance. As she enters her senior season, she'll look to build on that success and lead her team on another deep postseason run.</p>

The 5-foot-6 junior point guard took command of the Sailors' offense, guiding them to a regional championship with her poise, leadership, and playmaking ability. She averaged 13.9 points, four rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.1 steals per game, consistently setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Her standout moment came in the regional final, where she poured in 20 points to help secure the victory. With her combination of skill and composure, Sophia proved to be one of the key catalysts for South Christian's success.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Alexis emerged as the driving force behind Imlay City's success last season, proving to be one of the top sophomores in the state. The versatile 5-foot-8 guard consistently carried her team on both ends of the court, averaging 17 points, 3.8 steals, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Her ability to create offense and disrupt opponents defensively made her invaluable to the Spartans. Alexis' standout moment came in a dominant performance against North Branch, where she exploded for a career-high 38 points. With her skill, energy, and leadership, she's quickly becoming one of the premier players in Division 2.</p>

The Grand Valley State commit put together a stellar junior campaign, averaging 20.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while leading the Panthers to an Interstate 8 championship. A reliable scorer from anywhere on the floor, she set a new school record for points in a season and was nearly automatic at the free throw line, hitting an impressive 88.5 percent. Having already surpassed 1,000 career points, Rayah's senior year is shaping up to be another special one as she looks to lead Western on a deep postseason run.</p>
