Following our release of the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman 50 – the first ranking of Minnesota's Class of 2029 – a couple of weeks ago, Ally McGinnis and I have been looking at the top players in the class by position. In today's basketball, of course, a player's position and role is subject to ongoing debate so we're not being rigid here. Call it 50 shades of grey if you want, and I'm not talking about my wardrobe! On Friday we offered up part 1 of our top 2029 point guard prospects. (Click here to read the article). Today we bring you five more 2029 floor generals of note.

Standing at 5'8, Kalscheur is one of the longer point guards among the 2029s. With ample height, a wiry frame, lightning quickness, and tremendous verticality, she is also one of the most athletic. Rose is a true two-way player who gives 100% effort on every possession. On the defensive end she excels as an on-ball defender, using her tenacity, quickness, and defensive IQ to force stops and generate turnovers. On offense, the Benilde-St. Margaret's freshman plays with pace and can score at every level. In her 8th grade season, Kalscheur was a core piece of the rotation for Edina and averaged 5.7 points per game.

Nesvig is a battle-tested 5'6 point guard whose game is oozing with confidence. She excels as a leader on the court, consistently plays with a high level of effort, and rarely shows any fear. On offense Taylor uses her explosive speed to get to the rim, drawing contact and earning trips to the free throw line along the way. The Hancock freshman, who has been on our radar for several years now, has grown into a skilled passer and playmaker. Nesvig is an active defender who outworks her opponents, forces turnovers, and generates stops. Few in class A will have a matchup for the Owls' primary ball handler this season.

Lightfoot's game is that of a player well beyond her years. The 5'5 freshman from Delano plays with confidence, poise, and a lofty basketball IQ. Not the tallest of guards in the class, Peyton uses her strength to her advantage, absorbing contact and playing with a high degree of physicality. She is a relentless force on defense, bringing energy and intensity to every possession. Lightfoot is crafty and creative with the ball on offense, using her tight handle to create space off the dribble. Peyton excels as both a midrange and three-point shooter, using her well-honed step-back to create space from her defender.

Givens has been on our scouts' radar for a number of years now, which is no surprise given the combination of skill, athleticism, and basketball IQ she possesses. The 5'7 freshman excels as a primary ball handler and playmaker, largely due to her court vision, innate abilities as a passer, and craftiness with the ball. Kimora has put tons of work into forging her overall skillset, but the work truly shines in her scoring touch and tight set of handles. Givens saw limited floor time for Minnehaha Academy the last two seasons, but following the graduation of new Maryland standout Addi Mack, she will likely have a much larger role to play in her 9th-grade season.

Farmer, a 5'6 point guard from Jackson County Central, made numerous headlines last season as she set records from both the free-throw and three-point line. She was instrumental to the Huskies success, averaging 15.5 points and 5 rebounds per game as an 8th grader. With those kinds of numbers there's no doubt that Zadi is one of the best young snipers in the state. In addition to her skill in the catch-and-shoot, the Huskies freshman plays with an endless motor, is aggressive on her drives to the rim, and is relentless on the defensive end. Following the graduation of Winona freshman Rylie Cother, Zadi will have to play a monumental role for her team this winter.
