+3 – A precocious, lanky 8th grader the first time we saw her play, Kalscheur was predicted to be a quality college prospect from day one. A couple years later, we’re seeing that play out in real time. Now taller, faster, stronger, and more confident than ever before, the recent growth in Rose’s game is impossible to ignore. The Benilde-St. Margaret’s sophomore had a strong summer with the Minnesota Stars , and based on what we’ve seen in recent weeks, looks to be gearing up for a possible breakout season with the Red Knights. Kalscheur moves up 3 spots, officially making her entrance into the top 25 prospects in the sophomore class.

As Kalscheur continues to grow and build strength, she can be found making an impact anywhere on the court. Rose showed off her strong defensive IQ over the summer tournaments, and her intensity seems to keep on growing. Kalscheur’s offensive game is unique in a way, where she has the height to reach over the top for a floater in the paint, but also can drain the three-point shot. Defensively, she simply does not let players get by her. Her level of defense just makes it difficult for anything in the paint to be open for opponents. Rose’s height certainly helps her make an impact but it is her defensive IQ and ability to score the basketball that make her so effective.

+7 After spending some time playing for All Iowa Attack, Kalscheur’s return to Minnesota for the AAU season has given us the opportunity to see her growth up close and personal. The Minnesota Stars guard has been a top performer this spring, stepping up as a three-level scorer on the 2029 3SSB squad. We’ve seen improvements in Rose’s shot creation, defensive IQ, and finishing at the rim, but as always, the 5’9 combo guard plays with relentless effort each time she steps on the floor. With a significant athletic upside, it won’t be long before the offers start rolling for the Benilde-St. Margaret’s sophomore. She now joins the top 30.

+3 As you are no doubt aware by now, Benilde just won it’s fourth straight Class 3A State Championship with a lineup that is bursting at the seams with seasoned veterans and precocious youngers of the Division 1 variety. The odds were pretty long back in November that an undersized 9^th grader would see the floor at all. Rose defied the odds, earning time in 26 games and making her mark at both ends of the floor. Her athleticism, speed, quickness and tenacity stand out immediately as does her effort on every single play. With the IQ to match, this girl is going places. For now she ‘s up three to #34.

Standing at 5’8, Kalscheur is one of the longer point guards among the 2029s. With ample height, a wiry frame, lightning quickness, and tremendous verticality, she is also one of the most athletic. Rose is a true two-way player who gives 100% effort on every possession. On the defensive end she excels as an on-ball defender, using her tenacity, quickness, and defensive IQ to force stops and generate turnovers. On offense, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s freshman plays with pace and can score at every level. In her 8th grade season, Kalscheur was a core piece of the rotation for Edina and averaged 5.7 points per game.
