You always have the stars everyone expects…But then there are the hoopers who catch you off guard. Players who look poise in the clutch or make the unexpected shot or defensive play that changes the game This group didn't enter the gym with the most hype or brightest spotlight, yet left it with people whispering their names. They made plays, made noise, and made sure coaches, fans, and scouts took notice. In this article we look at the Under the Radar Hoopers who quietly shifted the momentum of games and loudly shook up the preseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='633532' first='Leila' last='Goll'] emerged as one of the surprises of the preseason. She stepped up on the offensive end with big threes and showed she can change momentum with her shooting. Defensively, she made an equal impact—using her speed to stay in front, contest shots, and disrupt passing lanes. She also ran the floor well, finishing plays in transition and creating opportunities for her teammates. Goll is a key player with teams focusing on Norman and Freeman on the perimeter. She has the ability to shoot the three at a high clip. One summer, Goll averaged about 4 threes per game. She returned to form in the preseason and will be a player to watch throughout the upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='514918' first='Adelynn' last='Curry'] gave Tocoi Creek valuable production. She hit big shots, played under control, and showed how effective she plays in various situations. She quietly turned into a reliable option who changed the game when she checked in. Curry has abilities and physical components that separate her on the floor. You cant teach athleticism and that's what stood out the most. The young guard has the ability to match the athleticism and speed of any opponent on the floor, and that is what makes her a viable option at all times.

[player_tooltip player_id='515065' first='Ella' last='Spencer-Gardner'] was very impressive during the preseason. She got to the rim, she shot the three ball in rhythm, and scored on a few mid-range shots. But, it wasn't her scoring and shot selection that left the impression, it was her IQ on the floor and the effort she gave on every play. She has young teammates who can fill it up, but she is the veteran who brings the spark and the leadership - she will be a player the young players look to in crunch time.

Safford played with energy and provided a spark, especially on the defensive end. She showed versatility with her rebounding, perimeter defense and defending in the paint. Her confidence showed even on the offensive end, including a three point shot from deep in the corner. Safford brings energy and a love for the game. She has the ability to impact the game in multiple areas on the floor, and this season should be the season she comes from under the radar.

Robinson showed real craft and confidence as a downhill driver. on one play, she attacked from the right side and finished smoothly at the rim with her left hand. She also displayed good court vision, delivering a dime to her big in transition. Throughout the event, she mixed in several strong drives to the basket and proved she can finish with either hand. Robinson not only brought the sauce, but she also brought the team leading energy.

[player_tooltip player_id='221599' first='Caelyn' last='Carter'] provided the spark on both ends of th floor and quietly knocked down several threes in a short span on the floor. Carter brings quickness and athleticism, and her ability to not only shoot the ball, but also lock down an opponent on the defensive end makes her a valuable player.

The sophomore showed impressive versatility and quickly emerged as one of the most complete players on her team. She grabbed a rebound and went coast-to-coast for a finish at the rim, displaying confidence and athletic ability in the open floor. She also connected on a corner three, proving she could stretch the floor and punish defenses that sagged off. The young forward/guard had some plays that stood out. Her length and athleticism immediately caught my attention, and the way she hits the boards was impressive. Redding competes throughout the game and that competitive nature will carry her even when points don't. She has the ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
