SPARC Middle School Combine (Part 2)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The all new state of the art <a href="https://www.sparcdmv.com/">SPARC Athletic Performance Facility</a> opened with a bang. Located in Beltsville, Maryland it's more than just a basketball gym. It is a training center equipped with some of the newest and most advanced technology around. It has a full circuit of weight lifting equipment, a massage studio, physical therapy, a boxing ring, punching bags, a certified medical staff and some of the top trainers in the business. It is truly a world class facility located in the center of the DMV. See new SPARC Center <a href="https://www.sparcdmv.com/">here.</a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This combine brought out some of the top middle school players in the DMV area for a true WNBA style combine, that did measurements in height, weight, vertical jump, speed and agility. Talked to players about nutrition, recovery and strength training. The players all left with a better understanding of what it takes to be a professional athlete. She took advantage of smaller post players on the the glass and was able to finish well by the basket. She ran the floor very well and defensively was disruptive in the paint. She had fluid movement in the perimeter and did well in all of the guard driven stations. She was both strong and physical as well as athletic and nimble. She showed some good ball handling and in the drill work and in the games she attacked well off the dribble. As the day went on, I could see her footwork getting better off the triple threat. As she stretched the floor deeper her form remained consistent. She had some good footwork and got good rebounding position. In the shooting drills she showed that she would be able to stretch the floor out to the three making her more of a threat on the court. She is a feisty guard that was willing to mix it up with any player regardless of size. She challenged bigs when attacking the basket and sought out contact to get to the line. She had a nice shot and had a perfect shooting set in one of the pro shooting drills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
