Back in September I started a series covering some of the best players that I watched at The Expo in Appleton. In part 2 I wanted to check in to see how some of them are doing at (about) the quarter pole of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='931583' first='Brooklyn' last='Luehring']---Kettle Moraine Lutheran

One of The Expo's top players, Brooklyn has the Chargers off to a blistering 8-0 start. She is second on the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and rebounds (4.6 rpg) while shooting 52.8% from the floor, 85% from the free-throw line, and 30% from 3. Her scoring ability stood out immediately but what was equally impressive was her defense during The Expo. That has carried over into this season where she is leading the team with 36 steals (4.5 per game).

[player_tooltip player_id='751243' first='Ava' last='Vogler']---Sun Prairie East

Ava impressed me, at The Expo, as a three-level scorer with the strength to draw fouls and finish through contact. Through the first six games, that is evident as she has already attempted 52 free-throws hitting at 62%. She leads the Cardinals in scoring averaging 15.7 to go along with 8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while shooting an impressive 38.5% from 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1226720' first='Grace' last='Warborg']---Jefferson

Grace was one of the players that stood out to me based on her rebounding. The 5-5 junior was always in the thick of the action, either on the boards or around the ball making smart plays. She averaged almost 5 rebounds per game, as a sophomore, but that number has ticked up to 6 per game this year to go with a 19 point average and 7 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='892938' first='Kinsley' last='Venden']---Columbus

Kinsley impressed me, at The Expo, as an incoming sophomore, with an already well-developed ability to get to the basket and the strength to finish off several 3-point plays in the process. Through her first four games, in which the Cardinals went 3-1, Venden is second on the team in scoring with a 16.8 average and is getting to the free-throw line for 6 attempts per game shooting 67% while averaging 5.25 assists and 5.25 steals per game.
