With that said, I wanted to take a moment to look back at the action from November & December, and to point out some standout individuals from around the state. Below is a look at a handful of prospects who are playing well and listed at 5-foot-4 or under. Any statistical information listed below is what has been provided through MaxPreps, so if your coaches don't enter information for you, that part might be omitted here.

I had the opportunity to see Dulce a few times throughout the Spring & Summer grassroots season, and I'm not surprised she is having a strong Senior season. She is closing in on 700 career points, plus she is averaging career highs in points per game (13.4), rebounds per game (3.7), and steals per game (3.3). She is also averaging a team-best 3.2 assists per game. She has really nice speed & quickness, she can get into gaps and put pressure on defenses, plus she has length at her height and is able to defend on or off the ball equally well. She should be a really nice small college "fit" kid.

Emma is one of those kids who you instantly forget how big she is because she is constantly making plays to control tempo. She is quick, long for her height, but she is a playmaker at both ends of the floor. She can create offense and find teammates, often making a highlight pass. She's also a dangerous perimeter shooter, and she finishes solidly inside among the "trees". Defensively, she is an absolute gnat, making it difficult for opposing ball-handlers to play a "clean" game. She's worth a look simply for entertainment purposes, but you'll quickly realize she has a natural feel for the game.

Aftin is nearing the end of an outstanding career for Lewis Cass. She is just 30 points away from 1000 based on the stats that have been entered thus far this season, she is a 4-year Varsity letter winner, and she has saved the best for last. She is at career highs in scoring (12.7 ppg), FG% (43%), 3-point % (42%), and FT% (83%). While she's never had to exclusively focus on being a point guard and she can just worry about making open shots, she has proven that in a pinch, she can initiate the offense when necessary. She has also helped Cass to 60 wins over the last three-plus seasons.

I've highlighted before how important Aubrey is to the Lady Falcon program. Last year, she missed all but nine games, and they struggled to get into their offense much of the time. She is their best and most vital ball-handler, she is steady under pressure, and she offers them the ability to either create for her teammates or knock down open shots consistently herself. After just one win a season ago, the Falcons have already won four games this year, and while there were additional changes, she is a big part of that success. She has nearly doubled her scoring average as well from her Junior to Senior years.

Serenity is one of three really good Senior guards for Connersville, and they can cause many opposing backcourts problems, as evidenced by their big wins against Borden and South Knox on Monday of this week. Serenity is a long, wiry, quick, fast, and crafty guard. She is a solid perimeter shooter with some range, and she loves to shoot it, but she also has a good handle and the ability to create offense for herself or teammates off the dribble. She is shooting a career-best 42% from the field, she's turning it over less, and she's creating havoc defensively with her 3.4 steals per contest.

Kenna is a multisport star for Edinburgh, and she has already committed to play softball at Division-I Eastern Kentucky University during the 2026-2027 school year. She is strong for her size, quick & active, and she has also put together a really nice high school basketball career. This year she is averaging career-bests in scoring (16.2 ppg), rebounding (4.7 rpg), and steals (4.3 spg), plus she is averaging a team-best 3.2 assists per game. Additionally, Kenna is within 150 career points of 1000 and will graduate with multiple letters in four different sports (basketball, softball, volleyball, and track & field).
