These are always three much-ballyhooed words on the South Carolina high school girls basketball schedule as one knows a She Got Next event will feature a cavalcade of top-tier teams.

This year's She Got Next Christmas Classic was no exception. Following another successful She Got Next Thanksgiving Classic in the Midlands, the scene shifted to 5A Division 1 J.L. Mann for this year's She Got Next Christmas Classic.

We at Prep Girls Hoops made the trip to the Upstate for the day's games. A grand total of six games took place that day on the home court of the Patriots. Here is part one of our top performers list.

With her 5A Division 2 Irmo team having been bit by the injury bug, coach Coretta Ferguson has had a chance to see what her Yellow Jackets resemble with Singletary leading the team's attack. The results have been promising. Singletary finished her Saturday at 5A Division 1 J.L. Mann with an eye-popping 34-point performance that led her team against another swarm of Yellow Jackets – those of 5A Division 2 T.L. Hanna. Her lockdown defense can cause deflections and other miscues by an opposing ball carrier. Offensively, Singletary displayed consistency with finding driving lanes to the rim and as a 3-point shooter. The final score was 54-51.

The first game on the six-game card for She Got Next Saturday featured an entertaining contest between Cumbie's 4A Daniel team and 3A St. Joseph's Catholic. The final score was 52-49 in the Lions' favor, and they needed every one of Cumbie's 22 points to stave off a furious Knights comeback bid. Out of the 22 she cored, 15 occurred in the first half of play. Cumbie established herself early and often, allowing her solid defense to translate into offense – a good bit of which happened via buckets in transition. She is one of three seniors on this season's Lions team.

The Yellow Jackets of 4A Greer have encountered their fair share of struggles this season, but Saturday's contest against fellow 4A combatant Southside was not one of them. By virtue of 20 points placed on the scoreboard by Foster, Greer defeated the Tigers with the scoreboard reading 55-16 at the contest's close. Foster turned defense into offense throughout the contest. Early on, the free throw line was a sixth woman for the Yellow Jackets as her first seven points were courtesy of the charity stripe. As the matchup wore on, she continued to turn defense into offense by getting downhill, finding attacking lanes against the Southside defense and finish strong at the cup.

As is often the case with multi-team events, the host squad had the final turn at the mic. Hailstock ensured that her 5A Division 1 J.L. Mann team would successfully defend its home court as the Patriots thrashed 2A Timberland with the final score being 59-29. Hailstock finished the day's play with a 20-point outing. She has blossomed into a seasoned veteran with the Patriots and her skillset includes the ability to attack the rim and either finish strong at the rim or connect on a short floater. Her defense can create many deflections for an opposing team and she is also very effective in the midrange game.

The resurgence of 4A Pickens is being spearheaded by a pair of eighth grade standouts. One of those was Moldovan who led an offensive onslaught for the Blue Flame against Greer Middle College. Moldovan's 19 points were part of a 72-24 rout of the Blazers. Much of what Pickens was able to get accomplished was in transition and Moldovan was either on the passing end or the scoring end of those plays. Moldovan has also displayed an ability to come away with steals and those often become points off those turnovers. She stands at 5-foot-5 and transferred to the Palmetto State from North Carolina.
