Holiday Recap From Around The Mid-State

We have reached the halfway point of the season. The first half hasn't disappointed one bit, and there is plenty more excitement as we move towards the back half of the season. As we flip to a new calendar year, you better believe there will be plenty of action as teams duke it out for favorable positioning as district play goes into full effect.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Before we get the new year started, let's look back at the final weeks of 2025, when teams from around the state got in the holiday spirit and competed. There were multiple tournaments played over the Christmas holiday, with plenty of teams seeing action both within the state and even out of state. Coaches made sure their players got some work in before the holiday get-togethers. Scoring 14, 16, and 19 points in each of her last contests, she has been filling it up from the field. Anyone who has been able to catch a Upperman game knows this young lady is a bucket getter. However, what's even more impressive is how she has been contributing on the boards and playing on the defensive end. TD is a scoring machine and one that brings senior leadership to this talented Lady Bees ball club. Playing with relentless energy and effort,  she led her team in scoring against Brentwood, dropping 27 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out six assists, and getting five steals. Anyone who has seen this young lady play knows she's the engine that powers the team. No matter if it's on the circuit or in school ball, this young lady produces anytime she is on the floor. She has gained her footing and is playing with a lot of confidence. She is a monster in the paint and locks down the low post on both ends. She finished with 22 points and seven boards against Brentwood, making it hard for the Lady Bruins to operate down low. Tough, physical, it's going to be fun to watch her down the stretch as TKA moves into district play. From playing tenacious defense to knocking down timely and clutch shots from the field, Charley Rae has given CPA another weapon along the perimeter for teams to honor. Her club is talented, and the addition of her to the fold has given them an even greater chance of going deep into tournament play. She competes on both ends of the floor, especially on defense, where her wingspan creates havoc.
