Rock Valley has soared to the #1 ranking in the 2A Class moving into the month of February. A big reason for this type of production is because of their guard-play across the board. The other evening the Rockets showed off their fire power by putting up 94 points against their opposition. In this showing, starting SG - [player_tooltip player_id='592200' first='Hudsyn' last='Ranschau'] finished the contest with a season high 38 points on 11/26 shooting. Not only was Ranschau on fire off the catch from deep, she also got to the free throw line nine different times, ultimately making eight of those attempts. Rock Valley is going to continue to be dangerous as we move into the Playoffs with their shooting ability. They have serviceable players at all positions and they know how to use them from the looks of it.

Iowa Valley has not started this season how they would have liked so far but that does not mean that they don't have some players, who leave it all out on the floor. One of those players is one of their starters - Myla Frimml. Frimml is one of the best at getting to the free throw line so far this Winter. She ranks within the Top Five in the state in trips to the line and that means a few things. It means she isn't afraid of contact, it means that she is willing to sacrifice her body for the good of the team, and it means that she plays this game to help the others around herself more than anything else. As long she she helps her team compete, that's all that matters and we love to see that type of play. Hopefully I.V. can steady the ship and end things off on a high note moving into the future. If they take it one game at a time, they should see success in some shape or form.

Jacobi scored the second highest total amount of points in a single game for the 2025-2026 high school season so far the other night when she registered 47 against Durant High School on the road. This performance is not shocking for someone of Jacobi's skill level, size, and the competition level but that is still a very impressive number. Especially considering that the other team only scored 35 in total from the other side of things. Jacobi dominated this game in every facet. She rebounded non-stop on both ends, she scored at Will from every position, and she left it all out on the hardwood. There has been one other prospect that scored over 50 in a single contest this Winter but other than that, this is the highest amount we have seen through out the state thus far.

You have to be relentless if you want to be a threat on the offensive glass each and every possession. You have to be willing to crash into the middle of the lane physically, over and over, no matter who might step in your way. Someone who does a great job of this is Corinne Anderson of Heartland Christian High School. Anderson is leading the state with just under 110 O-boards this Winter and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Anderson brings a high motor, positive vibes, and a ton of energy to the court to compete. She has shown that multiple times this season and I don't expect that to slow down anytime soon with her current situation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1583052' first='Jacy' last='Haan'] of Unity Christian High School is someone that everyone should note at this point in the Winter. Haan, a 6'0 PF, is a defensive nightmare for opponents and she is fairly coordinated on the offensive side of the ball. Haan is currently someone averaging near a double-double in points-rebounds and that just speaks to her mixture of height, physicality, coordination, and motor. Haan is a prospect throughout the state considered to be a top-shot blocker as well. This ability helps her stick on the floor in most situations as she can always produce on either offense or defense for her squad. All in all, Haan has her moments. Now she just needs to keep on working in her off-time and who knows where she might be able to take things.
