took a lot of shots this Winter but while doing so she demonstrated how much of a factor she can be on the offensive end of the court when she is in rhythm. If you look at a scouting report of HR the past few years you’ll notice that she is the type that you can’t give open looks to from deep. Doesn’t matter if it’s off the bounce or catch, if she has time and space from behind the arc, it’s going up and it’s going to look picture perfect on the release. This Winter Ranschau demonstrated for everyone watching that she can also handle under pressure, facilitate for others, rebound, and defend at steady pace. This isn’t the last time we will hear about the Ranschau sisters on the hardwood. They can really light it up and I think we will be seeing that a lot over the next few years on the collegiate floor.

Hudsyn was more of the off the ball shooting threat for Rock Valley. She was tasked with hitting shots off the catch from anywhere and everywhere to start the year and she has never looks back. Out of the twin sisters, this is the one that is primarily going to work off of the ball. As a whole, she has really nice footwork out the outside when it comes to receiving screening action and she can make a shot in any given situation that might unfold. If these sisters player off of each other moving forward like they did this past six months then everyone better watch out. They were lights out this season and that won’t change on the collegiate floor.

to find her shot in the first half of this one but she single handedly kept her team in this game down the stretch because of all the shots she hit in the second half from deep. Ranschau has unlimited range of the catch. Her team runs some great, 5-out cutting action on offense and that gives their shoots ample opportunities. Every time that Hinton got a little bit of a lead towards the end of the game, Rock Valley slowed them down with a three point by one of their starting guards. (Usually Ranschau.) Her lightning quick trigger and willingness to let it go from anywhere was impressive and that is going to translate to the next level in a big one once she gets there following this Senior season.

took over in the second. Any time she let it fly, the home crowd held its breath because every shot looked like it was going in. From coming off flare screens, to jab stepping and relocating, to deep kickouts, Hudsyn was relentless from the three point line and hit a number of big shots in the second half to keep the game within reach for Rock Valley. I loved that she didn’t let a quiet first half deter her. Instead, I think it motivated her — she kept her head up, worked to get open, and made her opportunities count. Averaging over 25 points per game this season, there’s no surprise this senior made big-time plays last night.

Rock Valley has soared to the #1 ranking in the 2A Class moving into the month of February. A big reason for this type of production is because of their guard-play across the board. The other evening the Rockets showed off their fire power by putting up 94 points against their opposition. In this showing, starting SG –

finished the contest with a season high 38 points on 11/26 shooting. Not only was Ranschau on fire off the catch from deep, she also got to the free throw line nine different times, ultimately making eight of those attempts. Rock Valley is going to continue to be dangerous as we move into the Playoffs with their shooting ability. They have serviceable players at all positions and they know how to use them from the looks of it.

from Rock Valley High School. The lengthy senior is having a stellar season thus far, scoring a cool 27.1 points per game and doing so at a super efficient rate. Ranschau is shooting about 11 attempts per game from three-point land and is making 42% of them. In a tough Siouxland conference (2A), Hudsyn has shown her reliability from deep while also making an impact across the board for the Rockets (5RPG, 3.4APG, 3.2SPG). Hudsyn isn’t just making threes from easy kickout passes either — she has elite footwork coming off curl cuts and flares and has one of the quickest releases I’ve seen in a while. Ranschau is a true gem coming out of Western Iowa.

is her twin sister Hudsyn and both sisters are such to put up some eye-opening stat lines this Winter. Hudsyn is someone that can shoot the ball just as well, she is good under pressure, and she can also handle it a fair amount. This is all pretty impressive considering that Haevyn is one of the best shooters that the state of Iowa has to offer moving into the next few months. I expect Rock Valley to do their thing moving forward. These are two individuals that we are sure to hear about more and more as we move into 2026 if they play to their full capabilities as SG and playmakers.

, you know that she is a top notch prospect when it comes to shooting the basketball from deep. Ranschau shot the deep ball at a 46.1% clip during her Junior season, ranking her as a Top Five 3PT % shooter throughout the entire state of Iowa. When it comes to catching-and-shooting, this is someone to know if you don’t already. Whenever she has any time or space from behind the arc to let it go, it’s usually good or close to it. No many individuals shoot near 50% from the floor in general, to do it from three so consistently is next level and I hope we see that more for her Senior season in just a few months.

showed out at the State Tournament last week in Des Moines. Ranschau is an elite 3-point shooter off of the catch but she can also get to other favorable spots if the defense tends to overplay her. With the high school team that Ranschau competes with, they have multiple 3-point shooters who can make it rain so most defenses can’t overplay one individual over another. When she saw her opportunities last week, she made the most of them and that was noteworthy. She shot at a high percentage from deep off the catch from the wings and then she played off that. Exactly what I would expect from a player of this caliber.

Being efficient is one of the most important parts of the game of Basketball. If you can shoot it at a high, effective rate, there is a college program out there for you somewhere. Someone that has always been known as a shooter her whole life, but she still did a really nice job today was

. Ranschau shot the ball well off the catch and the dribble from deep. In the first half she went 5-7 from the field and that never seemed to slow down from there. In the second, she stayed aggressive offensively at all three levels and that helped her crew put together a competitive game. Which is really all you can ask for.
