Cherokee Bluff, number 4 in AAA in Georgia traveled to Watkinsville on Tuesday to take on the number five ranked Lady Warriors. of Oconee County. The game definitely lived up to the billing as the home team was able to hang on and win 57-56. [player_tooltip player_id='674580' first='Bristol' last='Kersh'], a senior headed to Notre Dame next year to play soccer, finished the game with 28 points, four rebounds, and four steals while the freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='991147' first='Ella' last='David'] continues her hot streak scoring 25 points and adding 4 assists and two blocks in this very important region contest.

David put on quite a performance with one of the best athletes in the state guarding her the whole game. David has very good size and length which she uses so well that she actually plays bigger than her almost six foot frame. With the ball in her hands, David does a great job staying low, but keeping the ball out wide, creating more space for herself. She was very effective attacking the basket on the baseline and driving middle where she knocked down midrange jump shots and floaters and got all the way to the rim and finished as well. David made multiple shots from three point range as well. She moved constantly and with a purpose to get open when she was off the ball on offense. Very skilled freshman who has the talent and ability to climb up the national rankings the next three years.

Daniel played with a quiet confidence that was well warranted with her solid performance. She did and excellent job as Robin to David's Batman finishing the game with 13 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Daniel was active on offense and she seemed to be in the right place at times all night. She scored from all three levels and all were timely baskets with a lot of pressure in a tight game. Daniels has very nice form on her shot and used her quickness and leaping ability around the basket to score effectively. Daniel handled the ball well and saw the floor, making several nice passes to open teammates. She could be a good fit for the right college program after finishing her high school career after another season.

Cass, also a very talented soccer player, provided great energy and a huge lift for Oconee County during the game. Cass' skills translate to basketball for sure as she anticipated Cherokee Bluff's passes well and was effective playing on the ball defense. Cass disrupted the flow Cherokee Bluff had on offense early in the game with her energy and effort. She was a magnet to the ball keeping plays alive for Oconee County and creating extra possessions on offense.

Carlson showed off her shooting range early in the game, something that she is very well known for. However, Claire is not just a shooter as she proved getting to the basket and scoring on multiple occasions as well as grabbing an offensive rebound, gathering herself, and knocking down a close, but tough fadeaway jumper from the just outside the block. She and Kersh traded off running the point throughout that game, something Carlson may be called upon to do next year at Middle Georgia College where she signed to continue her basketball career in college. Carlson also did a nice job finding open teammates, especially off the dribble where she drew help from the defense all night.

Jones had a huge impact on the game for Cherokee Bluff rebounding the ball. She finished with 10 total, several of which were on the offensive end giving her team additional chances to score the ball and defensively she was just as effective helping to limit Oconee County to just one shot on most possessions. Jones made a short, baseline jumper after one offensive rebound and looked good doing it. Jones is a player to keep an eye on for Cherokee Bluff as the playoffs near. She can give them another solid post presence to go along with [player_tooltip player_id='1091126' first='Halle' last='Wilson'] as they look to repeat.
