Nova Battle: Oakton versus Chantilly

The next possession, [player_tooltip player_id='1220032' first='Jocelynn' last='Kinlaw'] gets a drive to the basket and draws it in one bucket to put Oaktown up five to nothing. [player_tooltip player_id='1657640' first='Amelia' last='Hilton'] got Chantilly on the board with a drive from the three-point line for a layup. [player_tooltip player_id='755774' first='Brooke' last='Chang'] was able to connect on a three-point shot from the wing to give Oakton a 9-2 advantage. Senior guard Abby Goodman answered with a three of her own for Chantilly after a bit of a scoring drought. Sahana Komanduri got a nice layup on the right side for Oakton. Saint Peter's commit Alexandria Wilson was able to score in the paint for Chantilly. [player_tooltip player_id='1220032' first='Jocelynn' last='Kinlaw'] scored back-to-back baskets that prompted Chantilly‘s coach to call a timeout and they were down 18 to 9. Out of the timeout [player_tooltip player_id='750345' first='Alivia' last='Tarry'] was able to get to the basket with a left-hand jump, stop layup, and that was followed by back-to-back layups from [player_tooltip player_id='1657640' first='Amelia' last='Hilton']. And Oakton had to use a timeout of their own with the lead cut to 18-15. Abby Goodman capped off a 9-0 run with a top of the key three pointer. Abby Goodman connected on her third and fourth three pointer of the game for Chantilly. Five minutes into the quarter Oakton was able to get the first bucket with a make by [player_tooltip player_id='755774' first='Brooke' last='Chang']. After a layup from Chantilly [player_tooltip player_id='1220032' first='Jocelynn' last='Kinlaw'] was able to get an offensive rebound put back for Oakton and that was followed by a nice spin move for a left-hand layup for [player_tooltip player_id='755774' first='Brooke' last='Chang'] to cut the lead to 32-27 after 3 quarters.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the start of the fourth quarter Oak Tawn was able to knock down three free throws to start the frame. Then [player_tooltip player_id='876808' first='Sophie' last='Toole'] was able to knife in the lane for a nice left-hand layup to tie the game up at 32 points. Finally, after four minutes off the clock, Chantilly was able to get their first points of the game with two free throws from Alexandria Wilom and one from [player_tooltip player_id='750345' first='Alivia' last='Tarry'] Chantilly was up now by three points. After two free throws from Chantilly [player_tooltip player_id='876808' first='Sophie' last='Toole'] was able to get an offensive, put-back to cut the lead to three points.
