[player_tooltip player_id='881974' first='Emma' last='Zabel'] will attempt to keep her Junior season going strong this weekend when they face Easton Valley High School. Zabel has been a staple for East Buchanan High school this Winter in the Post. She is currently averaging 8.1 PPG and 11.1 RPG while holding down the paint in the middle and she is making opposing teams scare to attack the lane off the dribble. Whenever that happens, Zabel usually is there to alter or deter an attempt near the bucket with her length. This group has a different leading scorer on the Winter so far but the major key to their success so far has been due to Zabel so make sure to keep an eye out for her this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='592199' first='Aubrey' last='Kelly'] has been a tough time for team's to play against this season for her Senior campaign. Kelly, the 5'10 SF, is currently leading her team in PPG by a mile and doing everything else she can around the floor to help the cause. Kelly might be a Post but she is also leading her team in APG with just under two, demonstrating that she can facilitate out of the inside of the lane at any given moment. Others will need to step up if Benton wants to make a big playoff run in the near future but for now, they will just keep doing their thing before we get into Post season action.

The dynamic at Oskaloosa is one of the most interesting one's that the state has to offer at this point in the season because their main producers are all sisters and when I mean all, I truly mean it. In this case - we are speaking about 5'3 Guard, Porah Cole, one of the sisters that happens to be a Sophomore right now. Cole is the team's leading scorer in PPG and the team's leading RPG as well at the PG spot. She makes big plays, she hits their meaningful shots, and if not - one of her other sisters usually ends up stepping up to make a play in the meantime. We need to keep an eye on the dynamic here cause over time, this could be intriguing when they get to being Seniors and Juniors. They just have to play their game. This weekend Oskaloosa will take on Newton in a tough battle. Who will come out victorious? We will just have to wait and see.

I'm expecting Washington to get a win this weekend against Burlington High School and I'm expect Adayln Long to be their top producer on both ends of the hardwood while that is happening. Long has length, a sniper from deep, and some crafty ability to her play-style. She makes good choices on and off the ball a majority of the time and she doesn't hurt her team with little, stupid mistakes. Burlington is not a bad program in the slightest, they just have one girl basically and Washington has more than just Long. With that being said, this could turn into a rock fight if everyone competes at a high level so it should be a good matchup to watch overall if you have the time to stop in!

It's been a good season so far for [player_tooltip player_id='957840' first='Savanna' last='Wright'] and that should continue into this weekend when Mount Vernon takes on another high ranking opponent in Waverly-Shell Rock High School. Wright is a gamer. Always has been. Someone that gets busy at the PG spot as a top notch producer for those around her. The best way to describe Wright is that she makes everyone else around her better when she is on the floor and that's all you can really ask for from a coaching perspective so it's always fun to watch her compete. She plays the game the right way and I would expect nothing less this weekend in their highly anticipated matchup.
