Tonight, I'll make my way west down I-94 towards Madison and watch a non-conference matchup between the hosts, Johnson Creek, and Dodgeland. Before I head west, I'd like to continue discussing some players to watch for the rest of the season and discuss what they can bring to their respective programs as we pass the halfway point of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1417587' first='Aubrey' last='Schettle']

Lourdes Academy graduated a guard last season who helped lead the Knights to the WIAA State Tournament. Schettle has stepped into the program in her first season of high school basketball and has been a reliable offensive threat. The Fox Valley area native is a solid perimeter shooter who has found ways to work her way into space with or without the ball in her hands, which has allowed her to be a perimeter threat at all times.

[player_tooltip player_id='624964' first='Ashiya' last='Hopkins']

The Wisconsin Dells guard is having her career-best season to close her high school career, and she may lead her program to a state tournament to conclude her high school career. Hopkins has improved in each of her seasons at the high school level and has become an elite perimeter shooter in her senior season. The impact of her ability to shoot forces defenders to close out more aggressively, which allows her to use her physicality to get downhill and play through contact around the basket.

Brinley Goninen

The DeForest guard is an excellent off-ball guard who can move away from the ball and create space from her initial defender for catch-and-shoot opportunities. Gonien uses off-ball screens and utilizes her basketball IQ to attack those screens, earning open looks as a catch-and-shoot player. She is a threat to knock down multiple shots from the perimeter any time she's on the floor, and her coaches maximize her skillset.

[player_tooltip player_id='910454' first='Aniya' last='Blackmon']

The Milwaukee native is an intriguing senior prospect with the tools to affect the game in multiple ways on the offensive end of the court. Blackmon is a physical player who can use her strength to power her way to the basket or play with her back to the basket in the post. However, Blackmon has also proven to be one of the more effective spot shooters who can punish defenses for not closing out aggressively enough on the perimeter. I like what she brings to the floor, and I am eager to see what she chooses to do at the next level.
