Thursday morning, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana posted the Winter update for the Class of 2027. Typically accompanying updates are articles highlighting players on the move, newcomers, and just all-around general information regarding each position group. Below is a look at the top shooting guards in the state of Indiana, followed by some commentary on a handful of prospects who have played well since the Fall update.

[player_tooltip player_id='834965' first='Carlee' last='Schrader'], Northview H.S.
- I'm a big fan of Carlee's, and while she had a nice Sophomore year at Northview, she has been even better in more of a leadership role as a Junior this season. She is averaging 17.8 points and is just 65 points shy of 1000 for her career. She is a playmaker offensively & defensively, she will find open teammates, and she's a very good guard rebounder. She is athletic, hard-working, and versatile, and I feel like elite small colleges would love her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='999504' first='Jayda' last='Kempf'], Our Lady of Providence H.S.
- Jayda is another 2027 guard who has taken her game to another level this season. She is strong, highly skilled, and versatile. She can actually play on the ball a bit, run offense, and find open teammates. But she's such a good multilevel scorer, that I feel like I would want to get her open coming off screens each possession. She is averaging 21.4 points per game this year, and with a little more efficiency, that could be even higher.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275573' first='Grace' last='Detweiler'], South Knox H.S.
- Grace was a part of the rotation on last season's State Championship team, but now she's one of the Spartans' top players. She is a really nice athlete, she has length, wiry strength, and she moves well in most directions, including being bouncy. When I saw her throughout July, she knocked down open jumpers consistently, but she also has some creativity in her and can play off the bounce. I also like her effectiveness as a defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='751091' first='Laney' last='Haupert'], Northfield H.S.
- I feel like Laney is still somewhat under the radar in terms of her recruiting. She has grown throughout high school, she now has good height, tremendous length, and she's a fluid/smooth athlete. She can handle the ball at times and initiate the offense, but she's much more effective as a gliding scorer who can bury an open rhythm jumper. Additionally, her length really helps her get a lot of steals/deflections defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='949526' first='Olivia' last='Conklin'], Yorktown H.S.
- Olivia seems to be a tireless worker and is always in the gym improving her skillset. She is strong, she has a quick pull-up/release, and she continues to shoot the ball more and more consistently from the perimeter, plus she's learning how to take/make different types of shots. This Winter, she has taken on some ball-handling responsibilities as well. Defensively, she could still be a little better laterally, but she is rebounding well.
