Monday morning, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana posted the Winter update for the Class of 2029. There were more than 25 new prospects added to the 2029 watch list, far more than any other graduating class this time around. Typically accompanying updates are articles highlighting newcomers and just all-around general information regarding each position group. Below is a look at the point guards who were added in the state of Indiana, followed by some brief commentary on each of them.

Mooresville is uncharacteristically very young and inexperienced this season. They typically have some depth and talent within every class, but they've found themselves playing a few younger prospects good minutes. Millie has been fortunate to receive a lot of those minutes, and she is benefitting by learning "on the fly" on Varsity this season. She has a solid frame and some length, she can knock down an open 3-pointer when set and in rhythm, plus she is a willing and capable passer. She should only get more dynamic each season. She is averaging 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Pioneers.

Hamilton Heights is absolutely loaded in the 2029 class, with several members of that group having started most of their games this year. Bayleigh has been a driving force for that class, acting as the primary ball-handler and facilitator for the Huskies. She has nice length, good speed & quickness, and she's able to get into gaps and put pressure on opposing defenses. She's a respectable shooter who can keep defenses honest, and she is a feisty defender as well. Bayleigh is averaging 9.1 points, 3.9 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 steals for the orange.

When we first add a class to the site in the Summer before their Freshman year, up until about midway through their Sophomore year, we ask fans to be patient while we make sure no one was omitted from this talented state. Jaliyah is a perfect example. When we release our first true "rankings" for the class of 2029 in March, she will likely find herself high on that list, yet this is her first appearance on the watch list. She is an explosive, athletic, and highly impactful young guard who affects the game in a variety of ways. Her 14.0 point, 7.7 rebound, 6.9 assist, 6.2 steal-per-game stat line is incredibly impressive for such a young guard at this level. Look for her on the grassroots circuit this Spring.

The Hornets are one of the best Class 1A teams in the state and could make a nice tourney run starting next week. They have some good forwards in the upper classes, but Mallory has helped stabilize the backcourt this season. She is quick and athletic, she can create offense or score it a little herself, and she is a willing & capable defender. Mallory is shooting 38% from 3-point range, which is strong for a Freshman, plus she is 80% from the charity stripe. Add in her 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, and you can see how much she has helped Rossville this early in her career.

Like Hamilton Heights, mentioned above, Guerin Catholic also has a very strong and impactful Freshman class this season. Cecilia acts as their primary ball-handler a lot of the time, and she has found success early in her career as well. She has solid size for the position, some touch from around the perimeter, and she can also attack the basket for scores or to find open teammates. She is another quality producer in 2029, averaging 9.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game for the Golden Eagles. I am anxious to see her play early this Spring on the grassroots circuit.
