This is a dangerous team that will be playing at home in the sectional. They start with Metamora in the sectional semi-finals.

Zaniyah can get it done on both ends of the court. She will create a turnover on the defensive end then finish it off by making a layup on offense. Zaniyah also has the ability to hit the outside shot making her a threat from all levels. The thing that really stuck out to me was how quick her hands were on defense. She will be one to watch over the next couple seasons.

The second 3A team is Geneva. Geneva started their run with a 38-36 win over the 3 seed in the semi-finals before upsetting 1 seeded Dixon in the championship 49-40. Geneva has all the tools to keep this run going. They will start sectional play again Boylan Catholic.

Adelyn is an exciting young player for Geneva. She features a smooth jumper, and will hurt you from beyond the arc. Estabrook doesn't stop there as she fills up the stat sheet posting 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Geneva and Adelyn will look to continue their great run.

The first 4A team is Marist. Marist started off regionals with a dominate 62-32 semi-final win and then won the championship 58-33. They looked the part as a number 2 seed. Their sectional run will start with Bloom Twp on Tuesday.

Cosme is a very important piece of this strong Marist team. Olivia features a quick and smooth jump shot. It doesn't take a ton of space for her to be able to knockdown a 3. She is also very active rebounding putting up 6 boards in their regional championship. Cosme is a player to watch during sectionals.

The final team from 4A is Belleville East. The Lancers won their semi-final 60-23 before winning the championship 37-32. They will have a tough matchup against Alton, a team they lost to twice in the regular season in their sectional opener. '

[player_tooltip player_id='1225856' first='Hailey' last=''] is a fast paced exciting guard for Belleville East. She features a very quick release on her jumper, and can knock down the outside shots at will. Gray is an athletic player that will only continue to get better over the next couple seasons.
