On Tuesday night, two Class B teams faced off in a battle at Bennington High School. Top-ranked Bennington took a 59-41 win over the Omaha Skutt in a game that appeared like it would be between two teams that can advance to the state tournament in March. Bennington is a clear No. 1 in the class at 21-0 and they also have two wins over No. 2 Norris. After a slow start to the season, Skutt is coming into their own; a gritty team on both ends of the floor under new coach Mark Williams.

Here are four standouts that caught our eye in the game. (Our apologies as this got stuck in our drafts and was supposed to launch last Thursday!!)

Our first look at the sophomore and, man, did she impress. Works her tail off on both ends of the floor, but is a truly elite defender. Her multiple Division I offers are well worth it. Reiner was also the runner-up at the 2025 Class B state track meet in the 400 meter dash which should also get college coaches attention. On Tuesday, Reiner scored 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting, but added seven steals, five assists and five rebounds. She leads the Badgers on the season with 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.

Another player with a fantastic motor is Bohaboj who helps run the show for the Badgers. She's an athletic point guard with great hands that causes frustration for opponents, especially when Bennington is in pressure mode. On Tuesday, she was her usual self with 11 points, five steals, four rebounds and two assists. Her impressive season numbers include an 11.2 points per game average, but what college coaches will see more is her 5.4 assists and 4.9 steals per contest.

If you are sensing a theme here, the Badgers are going to be really good again next year when they make the move up to Class A. The young classes are loaded with talent and Jackson is another, who was a sharp shooter on Tuesday. She knocked down 4-of-5 triples in the first half when the Badgers staked a 35-18 lead. Another great defender -- it doesn't appear optional for Bennington -- Jackson is another player who can make a big mark on the defensive end. Has averages of 11.2 points and 2.4 steals per game and shoots 39% from beyond the arc.

Just a freshman, Michaelis made a big impact in the game and on us in what is a really talented freshman class this year in the state of Nebraska. Already 5-9, Michaelis has an all-around game. On Tuesday, she scored 10 points on just seven shots and made 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. On the season she is averaging 5.4 points for the Skyhawks and is a 78% free throw shooter.
