This morning, the WIAA released the brackets in each division, and we now know each team's potential path to the Resch Center. We will break that down as we inch closer to the playoffs, which tip off in slightly over a week. However, we have a few things to do before then, and we have some rankings content to finish today. We will release the inaugural 2029 rankings tomorrow, and then we will look at some things regarding the 2026 postseason. Today, we will look at some stock risers and new additions in the 2028 class rankings.

The multi-sport athlete from Adams-Friendship is someone who could play multiple sports at the college level if she wanted. Moyer is an excellent athlete who can make plays around the basket and finish in the paint, excel as a rebounder who can high-point the ball over a crowd, and help her team earn extra possessions offensively. She has the athletic tools that will intrigue small schools at the next level if she wants to pursue basketball after high school.

The Viroqua guard is one of my favorite players to watch on stream. Her athleticism and aggressiveness make her an entertaining player to watch operate. She flies around the floor with the ball and can turn the corner on her defender and get the basket whenever she wants. Schwem is an athlete who excels at multiple sports and could play multiple sports in college. She doesn't play at an elite high school program, but she's one worth watching.

[player_tooltip player_id='1715320' first='Gia' last='Peterson']

The Brookfield Academy post player is a skilled 5-11 or 6-0 forward who can play with her back to the basket and finish through contact in the paint. I was impressed by what I saw when I watched her in person earlier in the season, and she is a player who can continue playing at the next level if she chooses to pursue playing after high school. Peterson is another one who may not play at an elite and well-known high school program, but she can add something to a regional program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1744740' first='Whitney' last='Schmidt']

The Burlington guard is a player who can put the ball in the basket at a high level. I watched Schmidt score 40 points in a game this season and 25 of her team's 27 first-half points. She can find ways to create space and knock down challenging shots. Schmidt is a player who keeps playing, regardless of the situation, and doesn't back down from anyone or any challenge she may face with her team. She's a player to know over the next few seasons.
