With three sites hosting girls games at the Breakdown Community Clash, PGH scout Grant McGinnis and I split up in order to take in all the event had to offer. He'll be providing the highlights from St. Cloud Cathedral and Becker, while I spent the day at St. Michael-Albertville High School. There were plenty of prominent performances to see, so I'll be splitting my coverage into two parts. First on the docket; six seniors who shined at the Community Clash.

[player_tooltip player_id='344332' first='Kate' last='Holmquist'] – 2026 Guard, Maple Grove (Montana)

The Montana commit (pictured above) came hot out of the gates at the Community Clash, scoring 8 points early against Lakeville South. In typical fashion, Holmquist displayed her versatility on the offensive end, scoring on drives to the basket, floaters in the paint, and shots from beyond-the-arc. When the 5'7 point guard wasn't looking to score, she found seams in the defense, making dime passes to her teammates from the perimeter. On the other end of the floor, Kate stays aware, allowing the Crimson to capitalize on their opponents mistakes, leading to points in transition. Holmquist's poise and composure was crucial down the stretch for Maple Grove on Saturday; she finished with 14 points in the win over the Cougars.

[player_tooltip player_id='478366' first='Riley' last='Ang'] – 2026 Guard, Rosemount

Ang lit up the scoreboard in the second half on Saturday, providing a major spark off the bench for Rosemount. After a slow start in the matchup against Providence Academy, the 5'7 guard came out on fire after halftime. Riley was relentless, finding openings on the perimeter to attack the basket with a head full of steam. Even when facing heavy contact from the defense, she couldn't miss at the rim. When the driving lanes weren't open, the Irish senior found wide-open looks on the perimeter. Despite being handed just their second loss of the season by the Lions, Ang's season-high 15 point performance was a bright spot for Rosemount over the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='782553' first='Amelia' last='Schwendimann'] – 2026 Guard/Wing, Orono

Schwendimann put on a show in Saturday's Community Clash matchup. The 5'11 wing was aggressive right from the opening tip, looking for opportunities to get the offense rolling. Midway through the first half, things started to open up from the perimeter for Schwendimann, who drained two three-pointers just before halftime. When the ball wasn't in her hands, Amelia brought toughness on the defensive end. Whether crashing the glass, playing physical defense in the paint, or wrestling for jump balls, the Spartans senior always found a way to make an impact. In the second half Schwendimann kept the offense going, hitting three more shots from beyond-the-arc. She finished with a season-high 21 points against Hopkins.

[player_tooltip player_id='478363' first='Maddy' last='Blaylark'] – 2026 Guard, DeLaSalle

Having recently returned to the court after a ACL surgery last winter, Blaylark's presence has been transformative for DeLaSalle. After a slow start to the season, the Islanders are now on a hot streak, winning their last eight games in a row. They continued that streak at the Community Clash on Saturday, where Maddy's confidence and poise provided an anchor at the point guard position. The 5'7 guard came out aggressive, looking for opportunities to score. After a quick 9 points from Blaylark, DeLaSalle was on a roll, earning themselves a 30-point lead by halftime. On the defensive end, Maddy's IQ and experience showed. The senior guard generated stops, forced turnovers, and was relentless on the boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='927228' first='Amaya' last='Pahl'] – 2026 Forward, Lakeville South (MSU Mankato)

The Mankato commit excelled on the offensive end in Saturday's contest, dropping a game-high 19 points against Maple Grove. Pahl, a 6-foot power forward, found multiple ways to score against the Crimson. She used her skilled footwork and ability to finish while off balance to score in the paint, and had no trouble finding catch-and-shoot opportunities from the three-point line. Amaya's tenacity on the offensive end, plus her willingness to fight through contact, earned her trips to the charity stripe, putting Maple Grove in foul trouble along the way. In addition to her scoring efforts, Pahl battled for rebounds and was a vocal leader for the Cougars on the defensive end.

Emily Gornick – 2026 Wing, Maple Grove (Minot State, Softball)

Gornick's impact at the Community Clash was paramount for Maple Grove in their 60-56 win over Lakeville South. The 5'9 wing affected the game in a wide variety of ways, both on and off the stat sheet. Emily used her length and high-energy style to create havoc on the defensive end. Whether battling with post players in the paint or disrupting the guards on the perimeter, the Crimson senior was relentless (and highly effective) in her efforts. On offense, Emily created open looks for herself off the dribble, attacking the basket early and often. She was even more efficient from the outside, hitting several shots from deep. Gornick finished with 10 points against the Cougars.
