#1-ranked team in the state of Indiana and winners of the “Plainfield sectional,” the Pike Red Devils are looking to continue their 23-game winning streak dating back to the end of November as they reach their 3rd straight regional tournament. In Pike's first-round sectional 55-38 win over Avon, the Lady Red Devils won the game on defense and controlled the boards on both ends of the floor, with a 49 to 24 advantage on rebounds, a team total of 13 steals, and 5 blocks. Meeting them in the championship was Plainfield, whom Pike beat by 19, 71-53. This was yet another example of pike handling business on the boards, outrebounding Plainfield by almost 20. Pike controlled this game from start to finish and, by the second half, made it even harder for Plainfield to mount a comeback.

Pike goes on to win their 3rd straight sectional and is looking for a trip back to semi-state. They will face the 21-3 Lawrence Central High School Bears in the first round of the “Greencastle Regional”.

The leading rebounder for her team, averaging near a double-double, [player_tooltip player_id='928878' first='Marley' last='Jeffers'] is one of the players to watch in this regional tournament. Snagging almost 300 rebounds for her second straight season, it's intriguing to see how she will continue to keep up the energy and effort on both ends to be Pike's anchor in the paint. Her big games are what set Pike apart and why they continue to look dominant.

21-3, winning their last 11, and the #4 team in Indiana. Coming out of the “north central sectional“ and winners of it all, the Lawrence Central Bears. The semifinals round was a meeting against Indianapolis Arsenal Tech, and the LC Bears came out unscathed, winning 94-6. To close out the tournament, LC would face the hosts, North Central High School. The Bears got out in front early against NC in the first quarter, and that was pretty much all she wrote. They would go on to win 68-51, making them sectional champs. As LC looks to bring another state title back to Lawrence, they face the task of eliminating the #1 Pike Red Devils.
