As the bulk of the Regional games start this evening, here are a few more "X-Factors" that I expect to play important roles in their team's success over the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232213' first='Peyton' last='Cochenet']-Mukwonago

The 6-2 sophomore Cochenet had a terrific season, for the Indians, averaging 16.8 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.6 spg, and a block per game in helping Mukwonago to a 16-7 record, the #4 seed and two home games as they look to wrap up the regional title this weekend. They open up tonight, against 11-13 Oregon, and then home tomorrow against the Verona/Middleton winner. When the dust is settled, the play of Cochenet will be the difference.

[player_tooltip player_id='883210' first='Alexandra' last='Quanbeck']-Madison LaFollette

It is not often that you see a 19-4 team draw a #6 seed but that is the case for LaFollette as they open up against #11 Kettle Moraine, tonight and probably #3 Brookfield East tomorrow. Everyone knows and game plans for standout [player_tooltip player_id='874372' first='Nyajuacni' last='Riak'] but I see fellow sophomore Alex Quanbeck (5-7) as the X-factor for the Lancers. She averages 10.8 ppg and is number one on the team in 3-point makes (28) while shooting 38.6% from distance. Her ability to spread the court helps open up scoring opportunities for her teammates and will be key for the Lancers this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='810813' first='Ava' last='Hoitomt']-E.C. Memorial

The #4 seed, 17-6 Old Abes came within an overtime loss to a trip to the Resch Center, last season, falling to Appleton East 68-65. The one player that I see, being key, to getting another shot is the 5-7 sophomore Hoitomt. She is averaging just under 11 points but shooting at a high percentage including 49.3% from three, 84.6% from the free-throw line and helps draw the defense away from leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1173395' first='Norah' last='Kling'].

[player_tooltip player_id='751237' first='Amelia' last='Van Der Kooy']-Oconomowoc

For the 8th seeded Raccoons, 14-10 on the regular season, to have a shot to get through Janesville Craig tonight and tomorrow, against Arrowhead, a team they have not beaten this season, they will need the 5-9 junior van der Kooy to be the X-factor. For the season she is averaging 11.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.1 apg and leads the team in free-throw shooting at 78%.
