Tonight, the plan is to head out into Big Eight country for the first time in over a month and watch a game for the first time, for myself, at Middleton High School as the Cardinals welcome in a talented Milwaukee Academy of Science team to the Madison area. However, before I head out later today, we'll look at some players to know as we near the end of the regular season.

The St. Catherine's forward is one of the more talented and versatile frontcourt players you'll find in Wisconsin. King is an intriguing talent who can play with her back to the basket, handle the ball under pressure, attack off the dribble, and space the floor when she has space to shoot from beyond the three-point line. She is a player with plenty of room to grow, but there is plenty to like about what she brings to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241412' first='Gemma' last='Gardow']

The Regis newcomer has been among the more impressive 29s in their first season of high school basketball. Gardow has been a significant part of the Regis team with the tools to make a run to Green Bay and win a gold ball in March. She is a good athlete who can get up and down the floor in transition, and she's played confidently the second she stepped on the floor for her first varsity game, and you don't see that often, but that tells you a lot about the player Gardow is and could be over the next few years.

The Kettle Moraine Lutheran forward has been something the Chargers haven't had in the last five years: a reliable and productive post player. They've had talented frontcourt players the last few years, but none as effective with their back to the basket like Mayer. She's a physical player who is a double-double threat anytime she plays, and that helps them compete and win the battle on the boards whenever she's out there. I'm a massive fan of what

Jill Pinno

I drove up to Fond du Lac to see Pinno and her Winnebago Lutheran team a little over a week ago, and left the gym very impressed with Pinno. The 6-1 or 6-2 post is a physical player who can control the area around the basket. She is also a solid vertical athlete who can high-point passes or rebounds in a crowd, which she did against Fox Valley Lutheran. She is a player who can play at the scholarship level if she wants to pursue basketball at the next level.
