POLL: Who Should Be MVP In Class 2A??
In this article:
With the IHSAA Girls' Basketball State Finals taking place this weekend, I wanted to ponder the question...who should be the MVP for the entirety of the 2025-2026 season (not just the State Finals or State Tournament) in each of the four classifications?? In this article, I have identified four young ladies in Class 2A who I thought would be front-runners. They do NOT have to be Seniors, they can come from any graduating class, and I tried to make sure to add at least one from each of Saturday's participants in the State Finals, if I felt like they would be close to the Top 4 (or in the Top 4) in Class 2A. Sometimes a huge Saturday can push them over the top!! I have also posted a poll on our "X" account, @PGHIndiana, if you are interested in placing a vote!! Votes will be accepted for 24 hours from the time this article and the poll post online. Thanks for your participation!!

Brynn put together an outstanding career for the Austin Eagles, plus she is a very good shooter and explosive scorer. For the duration of her career, she posted totals of 2218 points, 563 rebounds, 356 assists, and 271 steals, including Senior averages of 26.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 3.5 steals per game (all but the rebounds were single season highs). She also made 234 3-pointers throughout her career at a 34% rate, helping Austin to 72 wins in her four seasons. To the best of my knowledge, she remains uncommitted in regard to her college destination.

A couple of weeks ago, I highlighted the tremendous career Laniah put together for the Lady Bulldogs. This season alone, she averaged 26.5 points, 12.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. For her career, she has amassed 2407 points, 1402 rebounds, and 213 steals, helping Lapel to an 84-27 record over her four years, including three Sectional titles, three Regional titles, and a State Finals appearance. This Butler-bound forward is extremely long, very athletic, and always active. She has worked hard on her handle and perimeter shot, plus she's a monster inside.

Kendal unfortunately injured her knee last Spring and was noticeably missing during the Spring & Summer grassroots season. She worked hard to return this season, and she performed extremely well for the Lady Spartans. Minus some quality 2025 graduates, Kendal averaged a double-double with 19.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as a guard, plus she averaged 5.4 assists and 4.3 steals per game. The past two seasons alone, she has helped South Knox to a 46-6 record, including the 2025 Class 2A State Championship. She is a heady, skilled, and athletic combo guard.

I can remember hearing buzz about "Kenzie" all the way back to when she was in 7th Grade. She has always been a quick and shifty playmaker, she can fill it up from the perimeter, plus she's creative off the dribble and can score it at all three levels or find open teammates, which is likely why she is already committed to the Ball State Cardinals. In just three years' time, she has recorded 1827 points, 463 rebounds, 272 assists, and 292 steals. This season, she averaged 25.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 4.4 steals per game. She is always an entertaining watch.
