POLL: Who Should Be MVP In Class 4A??
In this article:
With the IHSAA Girls' Basketball State Finals taking place this weekend, I wanted to ponder the question...who should be the MVP for the entirety of the 2025-2026 season (not just the State Finals or State Tournament) in each of the four classifications?? In this article, I have identified four young ladies in Class 4A who I thought would be front-runners. They do NOT have to be Seniors, they can come from any graduating class, and I tried to make sure to add at least one from each of Saturday's participants in the State Finals, if I felt like they would be close to the Top 4 (or in the Top 4) in Class 4A. Sometimes a huge Saturday can push them over the top!! I have also posted a poll on our "X" account, @PGHIndiana, if you are interested in placing a vote!! Votes will be accepted for 24 hours from the time this article and the poll post online. Thanks for your participation!!

Vanessa still might be the state's most under-the-radar talent, and she is getting ready to take the State Finals floor for the third consecutive year. People in Northeast Indiana definitely know who she is, and she was a "steal" in recruiting for Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a talented athlete, she plays extremely hard, she's vocal, and she can affect a game by scoring it at all three levels and/or creating turnovers defensively. This season, she has helped the Lady Knights in the way of 23.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, plus she knocked down 75 3-pointers.

I am extremely excited to see Gracyn match up against Rosswurm (above) tonight in the Class 4A game. Gracyn is another tremendous athlete with a great motor. She possesses a versatile, all-around skillset, to where she can play a point guard role, she can act as a shooter/wing scorer, and she's strong & athletic enough to operate in the mid-post. She currently sits at 1875 points, 429 rebounds, and 330 steals for her career. As a Senior, she has helped Center Grove to a 28-0 record thus far behind 25.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 53% from the field.

Joslyn was spectacular this year, averaging 24.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, while shooting an impressive 55% from the field and 53% (65-123) from 3-point range. For her career, she has scored 1859 points, grabbed 481 rebounds, and dished out 321 assists. Last year, she helped the Lady Tigers to a Class 4A State Runner-Up finish, and throughout her career, they were 82-19, including a 24-3 record in 2025-2026. She is a high IQ lead guard who gets the ball where it needs to go but also understands when and how to step up and lead.

Lillian has been impactful for so long, it seems like she has been in high school for nearly a decade. She is one of the most fundamental, intelligent players you are going to see, and oftentimes it feels like she's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. She has a good feel with the ball in her hands, she can and will find open teammates, but she's also a multilevel scorer who can bury shots from '3' or get to the rim North/South. She accounted for 2040 points, 755 rebounds, 520 assists, and 518 steals. This year she averaged 21.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 4.9 steals per game.
