The regular season is drawing to a close and Selection Sunday is only five days away. Over the next few articles I am going to be pointing out more talented Sophomores that I feel can be difference makers down the stretch.

[player_tooltip player_id='992484' first='Ambria' last='Fischer']-Appleton East

Appleton East, sitting at 17-3 on the season, has had a bit of a roller coaster ride, as of late, having lost two straight heading into last Friday's matchup with Neenah. One person who was determined to not let the streak get to three was the 5-5 Fischer. For the season she is averaging a solid 8.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals, however this was a bit of a breakout game for Fischer finishing with a 20 point/5 rebound performance including 3 of 4 from deep, and was clutch, down the stretch, whenever the Patriots needed a big basket or a calming presence. With fellow sophomore, and defensive stopper, [player_tooltip player_id='904623' first='Emilia' last='MontMarquette'] out, for the foreseeable future, Fischer's aggressive style of play will continue to make the difference as the Patriots look to get back to the Resch Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='992482' first='Allie' last='Neuenfeldt']-De Pere

The Redbirds, last season's FRCC champions, currently sit at 16-4 and that is in large part to the play of the 5-9 Neuenfeldt. She has been a difference maker, all season, putting up 10.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.6 apg, 2.3 spg including 41.4 % from three. A solid all-around player Neuenfeldt has a non-stop motor whether that is crashing the boards or aggressively defending all five positions. For De Pere to escape Sectional 1, Neuenfeldt's play will be a huge reason.

[player_tooltip player_id='931583' first='Brooklyn' last='Luehring']-Kettle Moraine Lutheran

The old adage that defense wins championships rings true when you look at the Chargers 19-1 season in which they sit at #2 in Division 3. Holding opponents to an average of 38.6 points per game takes a great collective team effort and one of those players that has been key is the 5-9 Luehring. Her quick feet to go along with active aggressive hands has Kettle Moraine Lutheran as the runaway favorite to come out of Sectional 4. For the season Luehring is averaging 13.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.1 apg, and 3.3 spg while shooting 49.5% from the floor and 76% from the free-throw line.

[player_tooltip player_id='992497' first='Jazlyn' last='Alwin']-Wisconsin Dells

It is tough to top a 21-3 season, but the The Chiefs are doing just exactly that, in 2025-26, sitting at 20-0 and the hands down favorite to emerge out of Sectional 2 in Division 3. One of the key difference makers has been [player_tooltip player_id='992497' first='Jazlyn' last='Alwin'] (5-7) and her stat line of 15.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.8 apg, 3.3 spg while shooting 39% from three and 77% from the free-throw line.
