Selection Sunday is behind us and teams have been seeded. Whether you agree with the selections or not, the regular season is wrapping up quickly. Today I want to highlight a few more Sophomores that I expect to make a difference come tournament time.

Brianna Dahlke-Fox Valley Lutheran

The Foxes, sitting at 19-3, on the season earned the #2 seed in Sectional 3 in large part to the play of the 5-10 Dahlke. While not overly eye catching, her solid season of 9.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks has been a main reason why the Foxes made such an impressive jump to the Bay Conference this season. With a possibly third game, with Xavier, on the horizon, the Foxes will need to rely on Dahlke to be a difference maker and get them over the hump and to the Resch Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='874395' first='Calistin' last='Schommer']-North Fond du Lac

The Orioles, 14-12 a season ago, are having a fantastic 2026 season sitting at 16-6 having just earned the #4 seed in Sectional 3. With a potential Regional final, with Oostburg, on the horizon, the 5-9 Schommer will need to continue to be a difference maker to get them that shot. She is averaging 12.2 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.7 apg, and 1.1 spg including almost 3 points per game more in their wins.

[player_tooltip player_id='890590' first='Gabrielle' last='Guerrero']-St. Mary Catholic

Every championship team needs a strong lead guard and the Zephyrs have one of the better ones in the 5-4 sophomore. An outstanding defender, Gabby recently had to step up with leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='751240' first='Autumn' last='Crowe'] out for a couple of games. In those two games she averaged 16 per game and helped St. Mary's lock down the #1 seed in Sectional 2. For the season she is averaging 10.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 2.5 apg, and 3.5 spg while shooting 74% from the free-throw line which will be key to icing those nail biting tournament games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1134483' first='Gwenn' last='Elliott']-Kohler

It would be hard to find a bigger difference maker, regardless of class, in the state of Wisconsin then the 6-0 Elliott. Already getting D1 attention, Elliott has put together a eye popping season averaging 23.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 3.2 steals, and about a block per game while shooting 57.2% from the floor and 38% from beyond the arch in leading the Blue Bombers to an 18-4 record and the #1 seed in Sectional 4.
