Starting 5: Class of 2029

The Class of 2029 Starting 5 highlights five players who made a major impact throughout the regular season with their performance, consistency, and leadership on the floor. Point Guard: Floor General    [player_tooltip player_id='1240850' first='Khloe' last='Rodgers'] has both the skill and confidence to compete against the best night in and night out. Her scoring ability is unmatched, but it often overshadows her other elite skills, including her court vision and on-ball defense, where she forces plenty of turnovers. She averaged 34 PPG this season, ranking 3rd nationally, while also averaging 4 assists per game and 6.2 steals per game—putting her in triple-double territory on a nightly basis. Add her swagger and intensity to the game, and she consistently elevates the play of her teammates.    Shooting Guard: Combo Guard    [player_tooltip player_id='400816' first='Leila' last='Bryant'] can flat out score the ball. When the clock is winding down and you need a bucket, there's no need to call a play you can go five out and let her go get one. Her strong frame allows her to power through physical defenders and bully smaller guards, while her creativity helps her get to her spots even against quality defenders.   That ability is why she has made 82 three pointers this season, ranking 36th nationally. She also has 75 assists on the year, proving she can get her teammates involved when needed and effectively run the point guard position.    Wing: Versatile scorer and defender    Victoria “Pippi” Boyer has the length, speed, agility, and strength to guard all five positions on the floor. She has the ball handling skills and calmness under pressure to bring the ball up the court, along with the shooting ability to score off the catch, off the dribble, or coming off screens.   She also has the footwork to score in tight spaces and the grit to battle for rebounds. Defensively, she plays the passing lanes well and creates steals wherever she is needed on the floor. At 5'10”, close to 6 feet, she can create mismatches all over the court and contribute in every area of the game.    Forward: Stretch the floor and hustle plays    [player_tooltip player_id='1306668' first='Gianna' last='Miller'] has been playing a national schedule as a freshman and has contributed major minutes night in and night out. Her ability, as a 6 footer, to stretch the floor makes it difficult for traditional forwards to match up with her. She also has the skill to put the ball on the floor, attack the rim, and convert consistently at the free throw line.   Miller doesn't need an offense set up for her to make an impact, as she creates points through hustle plays and extra-effort opportunities, keeping her team competitive at all times.    Center: Rim Protector and Dominant force    [player_tooltip player_id='1308141' first='Athiei' last='Dhal'] is 6'9", and that alone makes her extremely difficult for anyone to match up with. There are very few scoring moves that work against a player of her size, and not many ways to stop a 6'9" athlete from scoring once she establishes position.   Dhal moves well on the floor and knows how to use her size to her advantage by gaining position in front of the rim and finishing with drop steps for easy buckets. She keeps her hands high, making herself an easy target for teammates to pass to. Averaging 6.2 blocks per game, she forces opposing teams to think twice before attacking the paint.
