We saw a lot of good things out of Doeden this Winter. This is a prospect that came on last season in a big way. She helped her Cherokee Washington program to a solid overall record and she follows that up with another successful season this past few months. Doeden does a valid job of owning the middle of the lane. She stands at 6'1 and she is the type that likes to do her work early on within a possession. She likes to beat her opponent down the floor and if not she can use her size to out-muscle whoever is standing across from her. Coming in as the state's 3rd best Center at this point in the game is noteworthy. Now it's just all about how she can build onto her game moving forward.

You have to like the combination of size and skill that [player_tooltip player_id='923922' first='Valerie' last='Rosener'] of Van Meter brings to the court. She is listed a 5'11 and she competes at the SG position as her main spot. She is coordinated enough to move to the 1 and big enough to move to the 3 if need be within certain line ups but she stands out the most on the Wing as the 2. I'm hoping we see the best season yet out of Rosener during AAU this Spring. She should have some others around her that can take control so as long as she plays off of that, she should continue to look the part.

Above we talked about the success of Cherokee Washington High School the past few years. Well, they wouldn't have any of this success if it wasn't for prospects like PG/SG - [player_tooltip player_id='832197' first='Addy' last='Wolfswinkel']. Wolfs is a game changer at her currently Class level. She has good hand-eye coordination, she has impressive situational awareness, and the bottom line is that she always shows up when it matters. She comes ready to play and that's what you love to see. As we say in this game, "Be ready so you don't have to get ready." I'm not sure of the interest that Wolfswinkel has right now but she could definitely be used by a few programs around Iowa over the next few years, if she so chooses.

[player_tooltip player_id='686894' first='Leah' last='Janulewicz'] was extremely impressive this Winter season with her Wolves team. She came into the game and made her presence known in simple ways from the 2/3 position. She got consistent boards off of missed shots attempts, she made the easy buckets you'd assume that she would, and she never put herself or her team in a worse position than they were already in. On a team that has several future D1 prospects, in a number of different sports at the next level, it means something when you can be considered one of the most complete players they have. That's what Janulewicz is. A fundamental prospect with a VERY bright future in this game if she sticks with it moving into the college ranks. She is going to be back again next season with the Wolves for one more go around and I'm sure by then that she will have a better idea of where she is going to end up but for now we hit the road for AAU season.

If you are looking for a player with better than average size, with a hunger for the knowledge of the game then look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='881974' first='Emma' last='Zabel']. Zabel just finished off her season at East Buchanan averaging 12, 7, and 2 on the way to an overall 8-15 record. She was a constant force in the lane, standing at 6'2, that everyone had to deal with once they beat their initial defender. It might not seem like they did very well but these girls put together some respectable contests and they learned a lot along the way. Sometimes it's good to take some bumps and bruises. It helps you figure out your flaws if you pay close enough attention so as long as Zabel builds off of the positions this Spring, she is going to be back and ready to roll at a high rate!
