Two offensive heavyweights faced off in the 6A championship, and yet, it all came down to defense. North Little Rock held Har-Ber to just 4 points in the first quarter and jumped out to a 14-point lead at one point during the first half.

After a small run by Har-Ber in the second quarter, NLR held onto a 21-10 lead at the half. However, Har-Ber would go on another run in the second half, cutting the NLR lead to 3 with under 3 minutes remaining. But Har-Ber's poor shooting could not get them over the hump, and they ultimately fell to North Little Rock, 46-40.

[player_tooltip player_id='1060878' first='Elicia' last='Shepherd'] was the 6A title game MVP, and it is not hard to see why, as she set the tone defensively.

The senior put up 9 points and 11 rebounds, with 6 of those boards coming on the offensive end. This type of performance is not a surprise, considering how effective she is as an undersized wing when it comes to crashing the glass and scoring in the post.

Speaking of scoring, Shepherd shot 50% from the field. Now speaking of defense, the senior only had 1 steal, but the toughness she brings to that end of the floor is incredible, and for all 26 minutes she played in that game, she made an invaluable impact.

With this being her last high school game, I can't wait to see what the all-conference and all-state performer has in store for whatever college she commits to.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090334' first='Lauren' last='Brewster'] was simply incredible in the championship game. One of 6A's best point guards keeps getting better, and she certainly shows up in big moments.

Brewster led NLR in scoring this game with 14, and she was effective at getting to the charity stripe. She only made one triple in the game, but she has always been such a dedicated slasher, and she showed that against Har-Ber.

Though listed at 5'6", she was putting in work on the boards, pulling down 7 rebounds. With all 7 on the defensive end, she was pushing the ball and starting the fastbreak immediately. I also can't forget to mention her effort on the defensive end, where she recorded 4 steals and was a crucial piece in NLR's amazing defensive performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090334' first='Lauren' last='Brewster'] will be making the argument for top point guard in 6A, if not the 2027 class, this coming year, especially with the way she played in the title game.

The Ouachita Baptist commit played well, as expected. Though she is a lethal outside shooter, she did not hit a three-pointer, but she found other ways to impact the game.

Fimple finished the game with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and a team-high 2 assists. Her shooting makes teams play her extremely tight (don't believe me?--just look at her profile picture). This opens things up, such as driving lanes, and if the defense collapses on her that way, then it opens up her teammates to have opportunities to cut or to have good looks from outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='876286' first='Katie' last='Fimple'] is also going to give top-notch effort on the defensive end, which helped North Little Rock take command of the game early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1180760' first='Mia' last='Hopkins']- One of the best bigs in the 6A Central didn't have her best shooting or rebounding game, but she established her presence on defense. Of NLR's 3 total blocks in the game, Hopkins had 2 of them, and she was contesting every other shot that she came across. Again, North Little Rock won on defense, and Hopkins made sure they were going to dominate defensively in the post.

Despite Har-Ber losing effort, [player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] made plays all night long, which is what we have all come to expect from the #1 player in the 2027 class and one of the best guards in the nation.

Coachman finished with 14 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block. Stuffing the stat sheet is all too common, and her ability to outrebound bigs and to facilitate is phenomenal. Scoring-wise, Coachman was attacking the basket and operating well on the perimeter, hitting 2 triples.

The 6 stocks is notable, as every defensive haymaker NLR would throw her way, she would throw it right back. Sure, NLR held them to 40 points, but they weren't that much better at 46 points, and Coachman was going to make sure that was a hard-earned 46.

[player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] proved that she could play hard and battle through adversity. She also showed that if her team needed a stop defensively, she would come through for them.

Like many of her teammates, [player_tooltip player_id='1090312' first='Madisen' last='Campbell'] struggled to shoot the ball, but she still found the bottom of the bucket several times.

Campbell logged 13 points and 8 rebounds in the contest. She was extremely active on the offensive glass, snagging of her boards on that end. She also hit 3 triples, which were all of her field goals.

The rest of her work on the offensive end came at the free-throw line. Though she could have been more efficient, she was aggressive all night long, fighting through the stifling defense on every drive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'] finished the night with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. She drained one 3-pointer and was perfect at the free throw line. Her effort on the defensive end was impactful, but like Madisen, she was making plays on the boards.

On the offensive end, Campbell grabbed 3 rebounds, creating opportunities for Har-Ber to have second-chance looks. With her athleticism and constant activity, this is no real surprise.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'] continues to show why she is one of the best two-way stars in the state. Though her team came up short, I would imagine that with this same core, they will be back next season.

She did her job on offense, hitting a 3-pointer, while grabbing 2 boards (1 on the offensive end), and logging 1 assist. She is another player who will be vital to her team's success in 2026/27.
