FL/GA 2028s: Showcase Heat Ahead of the Grassroots Fire

The narrative just keeps playing over and over again and it's now playing out on the state's biggest stages and showcases- the 2028 class is arguably the state's deepest class from top to bottom. This past weekend the FL/GA showcase was held and the Sophomores brought the heat and the propane tank to go with it. Green recently was in the final four at the UNF arena and left people in North Florida talking about her play. Green is an energizer for her team and can do a lot on the floor. She can shoot the three, get to the rim, draw the foul, and score points when called upon to do so. Defensively, Green plays tough on the ball and knows how to play in the passing lanes to get steals and possessions for her team. She was also one of the top rebounding guards in the 2028 class. She averaged 8 rebounds per game (265 for the season). Green was very good at grabbing the board and initiating the fastbreak herself. As shown above, her three-point shot is smooth, quick, and consistently efficient, as she's proven with 100+ made threes in multiple seasons. Beyond her shooting, Proffitt showed growth in her overall game—attacking off the bounce, making plays out of drives, and creating for teammates. She rebounds well for her position and competes on both ends. One sequence stood out where she attacked the baseline, recognized a gap, and exploded into a contested finish at the rim—covering ground quickly and finishing through traffic. Tatum is comfortable in the midrange and can step out to the three, but her strength lies in her ability to attack and play aggressively on both ends. Defensively, she brings energy, pressures the ball, and plays passing lanes effectively. With her high IQ and composure, she plays like a guard who's been through battles and remains unfazed in competitive environments.       [player_tooltip player_id='727591' first='Jaiden' last='Peterson'] was arguably the most electric player in the building, and that says a lot considering the level of playmakers on the floor. What separates Peterson is not just her speed, but her ability to control it. She plays fast without being rushed—stopping on a dime, changing direction, and accelerating with purpose. Peterson consistently got downhill, scoring at the rim while also creating opportunities for others. Her court vision, ball IQ, and ability to manipulate pace allow her to impact the game in multiple ways. Whether she's attacking or facilitating, her speed opens up the offense and elevates everyone around her.     [player_tooltip player_id='974196' first='Trinity' last='Dinkins'] turned in a strong showing at the FL/GA Showcase, reinforcing her status as one of the most versatile sophomores on the First Coast. She impacts the game across the board—scoring, rebounding, operating in the paint, and stepping out on the perimeter. Dinkins runs the floor well, can establish position inside, and is capable of knocking down the three. With a well-rounded offensive package that includes floaters, mid-range touch, and natural intangibles you can't teach, her versatility was fully on display.
