<p>The semifinals, hosted by East Ridge, set the tone for the entire tournament. Shelby Valley came out with energy, focus, and a defensive mindset that immediately made an impact. The Lady Kats were flying around, contesting every shot and making life difficult on every possession. It turned into a gritty, back-and-forth battle that never allowed either side to get comfortable. Shelby Valley stayed composed in the biggest moments and earned a hard-fought 53-49 win, showing toughness and poise when it mattered most.</p>

<p>That win set up a championship showdown between host East Ridge and district powerhouse Pikeville, a team that had dominated district play all season long. From the opening tip, Pikeville showed exactly why they have been the standard. They controlled the tempo, executed at a high level on both ends, and never allowed the game to slip out of their hands. The Lady Panthers put together a complete performance and pulled away for a convincing 73-41 victory, securing their sixth straight district championship and continuing an impressive run of dominance.</p>

<p>Pikeville was led by junior [player_tooltip player_id='1802952' first='Catharine' last='Walters'], who delivered a standout performance on the biggest stage. She poured in 25 points, knocked down five three-pointers, and added four rebounds while consistently stretching the floor and creating problems for the defense. Throughout the season, Walters has been one of the most efficient and reliable scorers, leading the team in three-pointers made, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, and overall field goal percentage while averaging 14.6 points per game. Her ability to rise to the moment and deliver in championship situations was on full display.</p>

<p>Senior [player_tooltip player_id='376765' first='Kylie' last='Alvin'] was right alongside her with another big-time performance, finishing with 23 points and four rebounds. Alvin has been the engine for Pikeville all season long, leading the team with 18.8 points per game while also tying for the team lead in rebounding at 5.9 per game. She consistently set the tone offensively, attacking with confidence and making plays that kept Pikeville in control. Her leadership and scoring ability have been a major factor in the team's continued success.</p>

Rogers has been a strong contributor throughout the season, averaging 3.6 points per game while ranking among the top rebounders on the team. Her effort and physicality inside gave Pikeville valuable extra possessions and helped control the glass.</p>

Her all-around ability and presence in the paint make her one of the most impactful players in the district.</p>

For a freshman to perform at that level in a high-pressure environment speaks volumes about her potential. Bowerstock has been efficient and consistent all season, averaging 11 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while ranking near the top of the team in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage. Her performance in the semifinals showed that she is more than ready for the big stage.</p>
