State Tournament Bound: Bartlett

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bartlett (27-10) is a state tournament qualifier for the 4th year in a row.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They defeated Clarksville on Saturday 67-29 in the sectional game at home. They will open the state tournament against Bearden (32-3) on Thursday at 11am.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not only is this Bartlett's 4th year in a row qualifying. They have played in the State Championship game in the last 3 years finishing as Runner-Up each year.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bartlett had one of the most grueling and testing pre-league schedule this season. Playing most of their games out of the state and against national competition. They even traveled to Arizona to participate in the Tournament of Champions event.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bartlett is an experienced, deep squad with 7 seniors. Six of the seniors have already signed to play on the Division 1 and JUCO levels. They are also a unique squad. Not one play averages in double figures. Not only does the senior guard lead Bartlett in scoring. She does it coming off the bench. She is the only senior that hasn't signed with a school. However, she did recently get an offer from #7 ranked Trinity Valley Community College. The high motor guard plays on both ends of the court. The Belmont signee is a powerful force in the paint. She is the team's second leading scorer and leading rebounder with 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds. <br>She can be double-teamed, triple-teamed, and fouled. The forward is going to play with the same locked-in, composed expression on her face. The SEMO signee is a triple threat. She can score 1) in the paint and 2) stretch to the three point line. Defensively, she is going to 3) protect the paint with her length and shot blocking abilities. As the junior point guard goes, so does Bartlett. She is the anchor to this squad. She leads the team in assists with 3.8. However, she is not only a distributing point guard. She can score. She can't be left open behind the 3 and loves to use her body at the basket for a bucket. She is 4th in scoring with 7.3 points per game. She is also a tough defender and leads the team in steals with 2.2 per game. I didn't know if I was going to see this young lady play this season. Bartlett was the very first team I saw play in the pre-season. If I recall correctly, she was on crutches. When I finally saw the Dyersburg State signee, I was very impressed with her shooting abilities. Lefty shooters have the prettiest shot to me. I don't know why but they do and she is a lefty. The corner 3 is her shot. She is very confident with her shooting&nbsp; and not limited to the corner. She is going to get her shot off in several ways. When you can come off the bench and shoot the way this young lady can, that's how!
