What a year! Really! This season has got to be one of my favorites since I have been covering the sport. Each season, the quality and level of play keep getting better. It's evident not only in the programs that win state titles, but also in the girls nominated for the Miss Tennessee award. Looking at the landscape of those who qualified, the voters had some tough choices to make. Some who were qualified missed the cut. Those who made the list of nominees rightfully did so, displaying a solid body of work throughout the season.

This year, the girls who won the award from their class did so without a shadow of doubt. Each of these girls is talented in their own right, but has impacted the game in a multitude of ways. You talk about game changers, they all were that, giving their club an edge every night they took the floor. Humbled, hard-working, gritty, each gave it their all, delivering stellar performances nightly.

As the votes were tallied and the winner announced, let me tell you this: in some classes, it could have gone either way. Those who were nominated have nothing to be ashamed of, as they had a great season. Those who won it did so by putting their heads down and going to work. All will make the All-State team. We are just here to talk about those who go home with the Miss Tennessee Basketball award.

This dual-sport athlete is creating a legacy unknown to today's kids. She's a hooper who is a tough outing anytime she takes the floor (or the diamond). Going into the postseason, she averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. She has accolades all across the board, has won this award before, and has a ring to her name as well. She is on the Naismith Preseason watchlist, ranked #3 in the ESPN class of 2027, and still has one more season to go. Keep an eye on this special talent as she whittles down her list of schools that want her at the next level.

The Clemson signee is a winner, champion, previous award winner, just a stellar human being who has the character and plays with poise. Averaging 13.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.3 steals, she just impacts the game in a multitude of ways. Hence, this year's championship, she was clutch down the stretch, showing up in big moments for her club. This kid has a high basketball IQ; she's a finisher, and Clemson is getting a difference-maker who will be impactful the moment she steps onto the floor.

This kid is a magician with the ball in her hands. Great change-of-pace player who can score and dish it with the best of them. She is solid on both ends of the floor, but her offensive game is magnificent. Averaged 30 ppg, 7.9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Let me go ahead and mention the 2.3 steals per game as well. This kid was a killer on the floor. Tennessee Tech is getting a dynamic playing PG coming to the Eagles' nest.

I want to give this young lady credit, as she is a kid who has handled adversity, not let that define her or deter her path. She had an early career injury, and she just doubled down and went to work. She has propelled the GP program, giving them a nightly spark anytime they tipped off. Averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists, her impact was always felt throughout the course of the game. Tennessee Tech is getting a gem, someone who will fortify their guard tandem for years to come. A solid kid who is a grinder in more ways than one.

Pure scorer. Doesn't matter; she's just a hooper that gets after it. No matter where she is on the floor, she shoots the rock at a high clip with confidence. Averaging 22.4 points, 8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.4 steals, Mississippi State is getting a solid prospect from the state of Tennessee. She's a game-changer and a proven ballplayer who has played at multiple levels. She will look to go in and carve out some early playing time for the Lady Bulldogs.

Sensational. The Clemson signee is nothing but impactful. She averaged 33 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 3.4 spg, and 2.5 asp, has 3 state titles, is a McDonald's All-American Nominee, and was previously Miss TN. Stellar yes. Here are two other stats that are worth mentioning: 3000+ career points, setting a new all-time leading record at Bradley Central (a record that stood for more than 40 years), and surpassing 1,000 rebounds. Talk about a career, one that will surely go down in the record books. Humbled and hard-working, this young lady is a true difference maker anytime she steps onto the floor. She changes how an opponent approaches the game and still gets the job done, no matter what. She leaves the BC program better than she found it and has set a mark that will be hard to reach for many years to come. The ACC is about to get a beast in their league.
