Under The Radar Prospects From the ’26 Class

Maybe it was a change of scenery that gave them a fresh start. Maybe it was their moment where they rose to the occasion to solidify their opportunity to play more. There are a plethora of reasons; however, some girls took advantage of their senior season and put together a solid body of work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When it comes to these under-the-radar prospects, they don't necessarily have to be the top scorers for their club. They could be someone who excels at the intangibles. Maybe they rebound the ball efficiently. Maybe they create for others, providing the proper spacing for others to do work. Maybe they show up in clutch moments against tough opponents where their number has been called, and they rose to the occasion. Whatever the case may be, these young ladies have put in the hard work, and their contributions have not gone unnoticed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are plenty of examples of young women who have flown under the radar and have thrived this season. When her number was called, it just seemed like she always delivered. Even throughout the state run, she always seemed to hit the big shot down the stretch to spark the club. She is a player who can score from all 3 levels, a solid defender, and someone who contributes to her club in many ways. Personally, I was impressed with how poised she plays under pressure. She was the PG who delivered time and time again. She could be creative and score for herself; however, she was also one who could facilitate an offense, protecting the ball and feeding the hot hand. She was a solid defender who caused havoc throughout the season. Each time she got a steal, it led to an easy bucket going the other way. She is a downhill threat who can slash her way to the rim. Yes, she can score from the perimeter, but using her speed to get to favorable spots is what she does best. She was a crazy good defender as well. Creating turnover opportunities for her club. She is a multi-level scoring threat who can score within an offense or create for herself off the dribble. What I love most about her game is her defensive ability: she will sit down and guard someone, making it difficult for them to operate. She has a quick first step and can get to the basket and finish through contact. She can knock down the 3-ball, but inside the perimeter is where she is tough. She is a solid defender who is active on the boards. Defense and rebounding are her calling, but she does anything her coach asks to a T.
