Border War Tourney (Arkansas) 2027 Forwards You NEED to Watch

For many Oklahoma teams, the Border War marks their first opportunity to showcase their skill sets in front of college coaches. With numerous programs in attendance except Division I schools. This is a key evaluation period for prospects.   Coaches, be sure to check out these Power Forwards who are coming off successful, winning seasons and are looking to prove they can compete at the next level.    An outstanding power forward with great size, soft hands, and scores at a high percentage in the paint. She has been a consistent force all year for a highly ranked program, drawing double teams from opposing teams. She does her work early, establishing strong position before the catch and creating clear passing lanes for entry passes.   She also demonstrated the ability to step outside and stretch the floor, knocking down the occasional three-pointer. Runs the floor well and thrives in an up-tempo system.   Defensively, she is a major presence, particularly at the top of a 1-2-2 press. She is quick to trap, uses her length effectively, and makes it difficult for opponents to pass over or around her.   Capable of recording a double-double on any given night. Earned All-Conference honors this season and showed steady improvement throughout the year, continuing to elevate her overall game.     Hazel is the definition of what a power forward is supposed to look like. She brings strength, soft hands, and is a highly effective scorer on the block. .   She has a smooth shooting stroke that extends out to the top of the key and the three-point line, making her a true inside-out threat. In the open floor, she shows impressive ball-handling ability with the capability to grab a rebound and go coast-to-coast.   Defensively, Hazel plays with a strong base, allowing her to hold position on the block even against bigger post players. She also has the quickness and mobility to step out and defend perimeter players when needed.   I have evaluated Hazel over the past three years, and her development has been significant each time.     A power forward with smooth, fundamentally sound footwork on the block. She uses controlled, strong dribbles to feel the defense and reads it well before making her move. A quick spin move for the finish, using her arm bar effectively to protect the ball against taller defenders.   She has a nice mid-range game, shooting a high percentage from the short corner and high post areas. Shown the ability to stretch the floor, knocking down shots from the deep corner in game film.   Defensively, she demonstrates a strong understanding of positioning and timing on the block, focusing on contesting shots without fouling. She is an excellent help defender, willing to rotate, support teammates, and step in to take charges.   A skilled forward who is drawing interest from several small college programs.     A great physical presence in the paint, this legitimate 6'3” post player brings size, strength, and effectiveness around the basket. She has good hands and displays a soft touch on her shot out to about 10 feet.   For her size, she runs the floor well and is comfortable playing in an up-tempo system. As her high team plays that style.   She first caught my attention several weeks ago at a local event. Her performance that day made her a player to watch.     A strong power forward who put up impressive numbers this season for her school team. She does an excellent job of sealing defenders, particularly at the high post, creating ideal angles for baseline entry passes. Around the basket, she shows soft touch and finishes efficiently, leading to a high shooting percentage.   Defensively, she brings a physical presence and toughness. She's what you would call a “banger” A player who embraces contact, competes hard, and at the end of the game wears the bruises to show it.   A post player with a solid skill set who reached 1k in scoring this season. Brooke should continue to gain interest from college programs making this a big summer for her
