Defensive Impact: MI College Tour II – Wayne State

The PGH MI College Tour continued with its second stop at Wayne State, where a full day of action inside the fieldhouse kept the circuit moving forward. With multiple courts in use, the setting once again gave players a strong platform to compete and showcase their skills. I was positioned at Courts 1 and 2 throughout the day, getting a close look at the 16U and 17U groups as they took the floor.   This session put a spotlight on defensive impact, as a number of players made their presence felt on that end right away. From on-ball pressure and active hands to rim protection and rebounding, the tone was set with effort and intensity. With college coaches in attendance, prospects competed with purpose, using their defensive energy to separate themselves and make a lasting impression.    Jaeda, a guard for the Cobras, made a strong impression with her defensive effort at PGH MI College Tour II – Wayne State. She was disruptive on the perimeter, using quick, active hands to create turnovers and make things difficult for opposing guards. While her defense stood out, she also showed she can contribute on the offensive end, knocking down shots from beyond the arc and displaying touch with a well-controlled floater. Her two-way ability made her a notable performer throughout the event.     A'leeyah, a guard for Prospects, stood out for her defensive tenacity at PGH MI College Tour II – Wayne State. She applied constant pressure the full length of the floor, using her quickness and active hands to disrupt ball handlers and force mistakes. Her energy on that end set the tone, but she also contributed offensively, stepping into and knocking down shots from beyond the arc when given space. When her team applied full-court pressure, she was a constant disruptor, using her activity and anticipation to create problems for opposing ball handlers and force turnovers. Along with her defensive impact, she handled the ball confidently and showed strong decision-making, helping her team stay organized while playing at an effective tempo.
